A little flushed and panting gently Robin and Kate emerged from the undergrowth. Kate fumbled with the laces of her gown and Robin smoothed down his tousled hair. Kate then stood on her tiptoes and pressed her lips against Robins with a few mumbled words. She scanned the area quickly before scuttling off towards the camp. Robin sat down on a tree trunk, a wide grin plastered on his face.
From behind a group of holly bushes nearby two outlaws emerged into the clearing. Much; a look of utter incredulity in his honest blue eyes and Allan, moving stealthily but angrily. For a moment Much hesitated but then he took a step forward and hailed Robin with a shaking voice.
"Master...please tell me you and Kate were planning a new way to rescue Locksley from Gisbourne, or discussing the tax review or...or something! Not kissing her, tell me you weren't kissing her!" Robin had the grace to look a little ashamed. He turned away from his friend's despairing face. Much buried his head in his hands.
"Look mate, that's out of order." Allan strode forward, his thumbs tucked into his belt, hand close enough to his sword for Robin to feel a little nervous. "You've been Much's friend for ages and we all know the unwritten rules of friendship; be poilte to you're friend's Mother, don't sleep with his sisters and oh yeah...Don't Steal His Bird!" At this Robin frowned and turned back towards Much.
"She's not your b...woman, Much. She's never encouraged you, or made you feel as if your suit is welcome." Much just bit his lip and shook his head silently.
"Now, you're just being rude! Much liked her. He didn't exactly make a secret about that did he? You're going to tell me that you didn't think he'd be hurt by this...or did you want to hurt him? Do you like seeing him miserable?" Allan pushed his face into Robin's until the taller man had to take a step back.
"Of course I don't want to hurt him. I don't like seeing him miserable. It just happened. I hope you can forgive me." This last part was directed at Much who finally took his face out of his hands not to reveal tears, but fury. He began to storm across the clearing to his former master.
"I've done so much for you. I followed you across Europe, across the sea, across the desert. I bathed your wounds and cooled your fever and I always had your back...You knew I liked Kate. You knew I would be hurt and yet you didn't exactly pull away did you?" Much took a deep breath. "I've always forgiven you when you messed up, well this time I'm just not going to. Sort out your priorities Robin. What's more important, preserving your oldest and strongest friendship, or getting your leg over?" Allan grinned at this unusual show of strength from Much and then threw an arm across his shoulders, guiding him through the forest away from Robin.
"Nice one mate," he said when they had reached a sheltered hollow and were leaning against an old oak. "I never even knew you had it in you!
"I can't believe Robin would do that." Much sighed dragging his hand across his eyes.
"He's all about the bigger picture, that bloke. But to woo the girl you fancy Much, after all you've done for him, I call that downright...dishonourable!" He turned to Much with a fierce expression on his face. "I'd never do that mate, not to anyone I cared about. Believe me." Much looked at the other man, thief, poacher, ex-traitor, and realised he trusted him. This made him smile and he put a hand on his shoulder and squeezed it gently.
"I believe you Allan. You're not dishonourable."

I realise this is a little stilted but I was so furious at Robin while I was writing it. I'm hoping this can be the first part in a series about our favourite pairing and the development of their relationship so feedback would be very welcome :)
