I'm surprised at how many friends have had their journals deleted; I believe the exact phrasing is "this journal has been purged." Does that mean they chose to shut down their journal or LiveJournal made the executive decision? Luckily, I have found some of the friends on Facebook, so that makes me happy

"Purging" of journals simply means that all data is gone forever. When a journal is initially deleted, there is a time frame, though I don't remember exactly how long, before it is, in fact, completely deleted. If a journal is involuntarily repossessed, I believe it usually says that, but once it's been purged, I'm not sure if there's a distinction any longer.

I prefer LJ. I feel like Facebook and other popular sites are more shallow ("friends" doesn't mean we're actually friends) and I don't feel like I can actually be myself.

I can understand what you mean about Facebook. I've added so many people who aren't really "friends" there. I did it merely for some of the apps, they require you have a lot of "friends" to do well in the game.

Do you know if we are connected on FB? Well, at least I can try to keep up with friends' journals again...hopefully...I feel so overwhelmed with all the things I am supposed to do. it's not even funny. :|

I didn't know you watched it. That would have been convenient when we lived, like, seconds away from each other. heh.

I don't seek out many people myself and feel too bad to reject someone that I do actually know.

LOL, yeah, that would have been nice. We are coming down to the Roseville area this weekend if you want to find some time to hang out, maybe catch lunch. Jason has to buy a new car since his accident.

I have been accepting way too many friend adds since playing two apps, SPP and SL. >.> I need to get refocused on my blasted thesis!
