That is really lovely inspiration. I know what you mean about losing one's voice though. I tend to be a copy cat artist most of the time.

It's a very difficult thing to guard against I think, especially with the work of other artists so readily available through blogs. It offers a wonderful community, but it's a fine line to tread, as well.

(That said, your recent JE dress was lovely and inspired! So simple yet so rich.)

Hi! De-lurking to say I found your journal about a month ago and I absolutely adore it. I can completely relate to the feeling of imitating others and losing sight of ones own aesthetic style. It's hard to find a balance and I think a lot of us creative types struggle with it.

Hello and welcome Sally! Thanks for your sweet comments. I think the word you used - "balance" - is just the key.
