Oh man XD
XD; I feel like a total ZOMBIE.
Home's a little stressful with the whole school thing (long story of drama about that). But, life's otherwise good.
You may or may not know that I'm a huge, blubbering King of Fighters fan. Guess one could say it was my major fandom pre-Kingdom Hearts. Anyways, |D I spent today playing Days of Memories 2. Specifically, ~Kare to Watashi no Atsui Natsu~. Days of Memories, for those who most likely don't know, is a ren'ai series. Most of them are picking up girls, but Kare to Watashi is the one where you get guys.
Before I go on, I want to emphasize this game is officially made by SNK, it is not a doujin game. It was originally for Japanese mobile phones, then got a DS port.
I got about half of the endings in one sitting (well, the bad endings, one secret one, and two main ones...). I tried K' and Ash, but I failed epically and didn't even get their progloges.
MY GOD IS THIS HILARIOUS.
I cleared Shingo's ending first. .w.; Manditory.
I got Kyo's next (since, well, it's the same one as Shingo, but you don't piss Kyo off). The plot twist in it was nice and sweet and so freaking stereotypical. He loses his memories, then you help him get them back. (If you fail, you get Shingo's ending)
Then of course, Iori. Now, for those unfamiliar with the franchise know that Iori... Iori's... Well, he's marketed as bishounen and mysterious, but he's the antagonist of, well, a fighting game. In short, he's got the charisma of a bowl of acid to the face and a voice that's lower and more threatening than Wakamoto Norio's with the flu. This is pleasantly maintained throughout the game. He NEVER addresses you as your name. Just "onna" (woman) then you graduate to "kisama" ("you," but... well, in CoM, Vexen addresses Marluxia with "kisama" to give you an idea about how polite and kind this is). I-I don't know, but I broke out LAUGHING when there was a sweet moment that was supposed to be happening. Thank GOD it wasn't dubbed, because I could hear his voice throughout the game good enough (especially since he threatens your character occassionally with his battlequotes from link above). He's generally a dick to you, but is... He just wants to make music and take chare of stray kittens! AWWWWWWWWWW.
I then went for the K' ending. K' never warmed up (hence failing to get his right ending), but... but... oh my god. Maxima's in the game in his storyline. Visual Aid of How He Looks in The Series. Then look at the picture above. 1000% renai-ification! (Well, it happened to all of them but Rock, K' and Ash). I lol'd here too. The picture's from when you talk to K' and you suggest to go on a walk with both of them. MAXIMA AGREES TO YOUR SUGGESTION TOO MUCH. Also, you see Kula for a bit, and she's all gothic lolita ;w; <3.
Then there's Ash. Now, Ash Crimson's presence in a dating sim befuddled me, honestly. I know I don't like to just say "that character is gay"--most aren't when you say it, or you pretty much can go with the "Nomura Rule". But... I can't speak much more to this. He's the head of decorating your classroom for the festival in the game and his official profile states his hobby is "nail art." In this game, for your character's birthday, he paints her nails as seen in the end picture. Middle picture: "HI, I BROUGHT DUO LON AND SHEN WOO WITH ME. OUR OUTFITS MATCH." First picture: Ash is just PITCHING SPARKLES AND JEWELS.
I'll probably either try to clear K' or Ash's scenarios, then go on to Terry Bogard's, Ryo Sakazaki's, Rock Howard's, then I guess Alba's. Alba doesn't appeal to me at all--Maximum Impact never wormed its way into my heart. I'm surprised that Benimaru was substituted with Ash. Well, not really surprised, since they just took all of the main male characters and tossed them in. I'm also surprised that they went with Terry's Mark of the Wolves age of 35 (older Terry >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> younger, 24 year old Terry, in my opinion)--he's your AMERICAN!PE teacher. As for the other architypes of ren'ai, Rock is the token transfer student (still adopted by Terry). Ryo's your karate teacher or something. Alba's some guy who knows the heroine's dad. Kyo's your big brother type (;w; He gets called "Kyo-nii" in the game! AWWW). Iori's the disgruntled rock star. K' is the disgruntled childhood friend that lost his memory (called "Ke-kun" by the main). Tamaki from Ouran High School Host Club Ash is misplaced and looking to molest boys at school the rich Frenchy student. Shingo is Kyo's bitch, like he is in the games and Maxima is just there to be BFFs with K'. Krizalid special guest stars!
