Well, if you can't tell already it's been a pretty damn good week in Leslie Land. I have so many more people to hang out with this year than I did during my undergrad or first year of grad school. One person in particular is making me very very happy. :) OU had better hire me so I don't have to leave next year. I think I've got a pretty good shot

Ah, and there's where I disagree. It's important to understand what was going on in America at the time Japanese shows were coming over and how we had to evolve to fit the standards they created. It's very very culturally important, and an interesting trend, nonetheless. In faaaact...in some ways, watching and analyzing a series like that every one in a while may even be more culturally significant in "branching the gap between Japan and Ohio University" (our mission statement) than watching random anime would.
Good times! Thanks for the opinion, though. I'd love to talk more about this if you're still interested.
