Movies

I have one movie friend (definition: one friend who goes to the movies with me). I usually defer to whatever she wants to see. This is how we're ending up going to see Because I Said So on Saturday. I'm so bad though. I keep reading reviews - one is good and then one is bad so I flip flop with them. I'm sure it's enjoyable so I don't care ( Read more... )

I say drag the boy to Catch and Release. We have a movie card we need to use soon so I'm going to see if we can go to a movie next weekend. Although I have no intereste in watching the Superbowl so perhaps I can convince A to go to something on Sunday.

I want to see Because I Said So but mostly because Lauren Graham is in the movie. I have a friend who may go with me but later in the month. You'll have to tell me how you like it. Or don't like it as the case may be. :)

My sister and I are planning to see BISS because we both happen to like Mandy Moore as an actress better than a singer. I loved Chasing Liberty and that movie where she played a dying girl..... can't remember the name. Plus, LG is in it. Even though I know MM is good, I can't believe she got top billing for that movie. Maybe that is the loyalty to GG talking...

I'm ok with Mandy Moore. I loved Chasing Liberty. I didn't really like How to Deal. A Walk to Remember was the one where she died. I wasn't too into that one either. So, even if I don't like all of her movies, that somehow doesn't stop me from watching them all. The boy loves her. He's been gushing about her every time the commercial comes on.

It turns out, I didn't even have to twist his arm. I asked if he'd go see it (without mentioning it will be free) and he said he kind of wanted to see it. He likes Kevin Smith (and Jennifer Garner). So, yay! It looks like we're planning on going next weekend.

I sometimes don't like seeing movies when ads, trailers, promos have been played to death. I watch the movie and think, yup pretty much everything I saw already.

I need a movie buddy. I should go search for one.

I saw BISS last night. I really liked it. It was LOL at some points and "What is she doing?!" (about the mom) at others.

What did you think?

I agree. I thought it was cute. It was what it was. I went in with lower expectations so it worked out fine. We had a great theater group though. It seemed like a lot of people were really enjoying it so the energy in the theater was high. That helps.

Our one big issue is the conversations the girls had with their mother. I understand that they're close because she raised them single-handedly, but none of us would ever talk to our mother about that stuff! Still, good fun.

I've got 2 sisters and we would never talk to our mom about that stuff either, but we do talk to each other.....or rather did when we were younger. ;-)

Glad you liked it too. I thought it was worth the price of admission.
