How honest are you?

Except for my white lying phase (and I'm trying to be better about that), I'm fairly honest. I've been trying to be better. However, today, I went to the bookstore to pick up a book. I had a coupon for 46% off which should have left the hardcover $15 or $16. They charge me $8 and change. The only thing I can think of is that they charged me my ( Read more... )

I would not. I had that happen to me on Monday when I went to return some shoes and buy some new ones, and I realized that I returned the less expensive pair that I bought (buy one, get one 1/2 off), and they didn't charge me anything for the new pair that I got. I looked at the receipt when I left, then at the boxes when I got home, and realized what happened.

I have had similar things happen and sometimes I say something and sometimes I don't. If I catch it at the register, I generally say something. If I don't catch it until I get home or until I do the cheque book, I generally don't say anything. If I were a more honest person, I would probably say something all the time, but I am who I am. *grin*

If I see smthng wrong while I am there, then I question it. But, I am so absentminded that I never even realize that something is wrong until way after when I look at the receipt. I am trying to change that habit by looking through the items before I sign my name. But if I'm in a rush to leave... I forget. Generally, I like to think I'm honest, but I don't know if I would say smthng in that case.

Was that the new JD Robb book perchance?

It was the new J.D. Robb book.

I totally couldn't find it, and I asked the help desk. The help desk redeemed itself. He was very helpful. I had um passed the book when I walked into the store.

I usually figure out how much is close. I don't actually say anything when they overcharge me so it evens out. Plus, the fact I spent more on a sandwich and drink made me feel better, too. Thank you for introducing me to the non-coffee frappacinos. I now can't stop ordering them - got the double chocolate chip last week and the strawberries and cream today.

That is the other thing to factor in: How much money does the store make off you anyway? I'm sure they made it up in just the food you bought!

Seems like I have to thank you, too. I have been getting the Raspberry Italian soda lately.
