Fanmix Poll (kind of)

Dec 04, 2010 15:25

I'm working on coming up with some Pixar fanmixes and I want some opinions on the following songs if you are into Pixar or fanmixes and have the time :)

1. "Oh How The Years Go By" by Amy Grant - Does this song make you think more of Carl and Ellie's life from Up or how the toys might feel in Toy Story 3??

2. "Need To Be Next To You" by Leigh ( Read more... )

Very very true. Even when it's not a tearjerker moment, there's still so much emotion and I just become absorbed in the movie. I laugh, cry, relate, gasp, etc. It's always a great experience.

Lol, that's actually a lot of people's reaction. Most people only know she sings the iCarly theme song, but beyond that they are surprised that she's had other songs let alone an actual album. Most people comment on how they expect it from Disney stars, but are shocked that both Miranda Cosgrove and Jennette McCurdy of iCarly have studio releases.

Well, I'll help if I can ^^ Let's see...

"Oh How the Years Go By" definitely had more of a Toy Story feel to it to me.

I get more of a Wall-E/Eve vibe for "Need to be Next to You".

I can see what you mean about "You and Me" fitting Sulley and Boo. But the song has always seemed more romantic to me, so I'm gonna go with Lightning/Sally.

I think....I kind of like "Kissing U" better. So I'll have to go with that one ^^

I hope that helped, even if it's just my opinion. =D Good luck with the fanmixes!

No problem. I'm glad I could help ^^

I know what you mean about listening to songs and finding elements that aren't meant to be in it. Like, sometimes I'll listen to songs and find a religious meaning in it, despite it not being meant for that (haha, like every time I listen to "Gotta Find You" from Camp Rock, heehee), or visa versa. But that's the beauty of music, because people are able to interpret it in a whole variety of ways.

That's so ironic because I almost mentioned that in my comment about the religious thing. And "Gotta Find You" is one of the ones that has always struck me in a religious way actually. But when I tell people they're usually like: O_O Like Selena Gomez' "Year Without Rain" made me think of God (minus the baby part lol) and my sister was a little like, "That's kind of odd." But then later Selena said in an interview that she actually hoped people would apply it to whatever they felt like and not necessarily just a relationship with a guy... So I agree! Music is often -if not always- open to interpretation.
