on age, the obliviousness of youth, and a great big fricking light bulb

I was told today I look my age.  A whopping 32 years and its starting to show apparently.  There are days when I feel my age, others I feel infinitely older, and certainly I have my moments of  teddy bears, crayons and wanting someone to just hold me on their lap and let me be little again ( Read more... )

Oh man. When I was a kid (and this still holds true -- wait, I AM still a kid...) I never, EVER made comments about someones age. Even if I knew they were okay with it, I'd much rather have joked that the elderly woman was obviously 29 than make any "you're old" comments.

Although... "looking 32" isn't the same as "looking old". I hope not, anyway.

In my EMR class, we had a few discussions about age. I was one of the "older" people in the class.. I was much amused when one girl (who's 25) assumed I was roughly 30 when she first saw me... and then reassessed that to early 20s when I opened my mouth.

I guess I look older, but I sound younger. Huh. I think... the reverse might be the preferred option. Oh well.

(For the record: I turn 29 in 2 months.)

Yeah I would never have considered saying to anyone, you look old/sick/skinny/fat etc, my Mother would have used my ass as target practice. I guess today respect and politeness aren't as highly rated as they once were. I will admit I can see myself aging. Those lines have started appearing & my small frame which I once viewed as attractive regardless of the boniness factor can take on an unhealthy look if I don't keep my weight above my minimums. However that said I still think I look damn good and nowhere near old. Silly children.

You don't look old by any means, nor do i think you sound young when you speak. Mind you I don't tend to guess peoples ages based on looks or thought processing factors. Meh your cute what does it really matter right? *wink*
