Fake Clinics

An Indiana mother recently accompanied her daughter and her daughter's boyfriend to one of Indiana's Planned Parenthood clinics, but they unwittingly walked into a so-called "crisis pregnancy center" run by an anti-abortion group, one that shared a parking lot with the real Planned Parenthood clinic and was designed expressly to lure Planned ( Read more... )

That story has all the earmarks of a hoax. No place, no dates, just a vague story.

People have invesitgated and found that it doesn't hold any water. There's only one PP in Indiana that shares a parking lot with a prolife pregnancy center, and there's no way you could confuse the two. They're in Indianapolis, and the Indianapolis police have no records of any of the purported events.

In a nutshell: It never happened. And you're passing it on. Planned Parenthood kills women, for crying out loud. Do you think they'd balk at lying to further their agenda and divert attention away from their own problems?

Maybe it happened, maybe it didn't. I really don't know much about Indiana. And I've never heard of any Planned Parenthood killing women. In fact, more women have died resulting from unplanned pregnancies and unsafe abortions. Planned Parenthood is just trying to prevent both of those.

PREVENT unsafe abortions? Planned Parenthood performs them and refers for them.

Yes, some Planned Parenthoods perform abortions, but they are SAFE abortions. Some Planned Parenthoods do not have the means to perform abortions, so they refer patients to qualified doctors who can. These are safe, medically sound abortions that will cause little trauma (physical or emotional) to the women who CHOOSE to have the abortions. No one is being forced here. These safe abortions, while sad, are much better than desperate women trying to end their own pregnancies with needles, coathangers, and throwing themselves down flights of stairs.

And Planned Parenthood tries to prevent abortions in the first place by providing accurate sex education, medical care, and access to birth control--all of which prevent unwanted pregnancies and, therefore, unnecessary abortions.

No, I don't know the person. Obviously they are not on "my" side? I don't know. Yay for discussions though. Without discussions we can never confront problems or make progress. Yay for the MOH dress. I will probably get it soon. And as far as I know, Saturday is good--I think Antoinette and I are hanging out, but there are no plans. So let me know if you want to do anything.
