..........not a problem.......but when you use it in a negative HOMOPHOBIC way, as I just experienced today....you better be ready to GO DOWN

I would have been truly shocked (initially), but then, I would have just looked right at this person and said that their choice of words and behavior is incredibly inappropriate.
If they didn't apologize, I would have gone to their manager and brought it up. It doesn't matter if you actually did do something wrong, since there are ways to handle things, at a certain time, in a certain place. It's not done in front of everyone else, in a loud voice, with derogatory language (as you suggested).
Talk to your manager first. He should help you rectify the situation. If not, then move it along to this other person's supervisor and lodge a complaint for unprofessional behavior.
That's my take on it. Anyway, hope lunch with Ms. LP was tasty :-D
It's on for tommorow. I think her manager just put her in her place and I'll be having a talk with him tommorow as well. But like you said, I didn't use any profanity or anything when I went back at her.
It was a good thing my manager was there to witness the whole fiasco. I think he's getting it looked into and tommorow I talk with her boss and see what happens.
I would have punched her ass in the face! Clearly she has issues including anger and homophobia. I would have set her straight right there and you would have been perfectly justified (you were antagonized in the workplace).
Show her you are a Princess, but you are still a man!
Now that it's too late to punch her, I'd take her to court and sue her ass. Make sure she knows that you are not the one to mess with. Her behavior was totally unprofessional and completely uncalled for. If she can't control herself, then she certainly doesn't need to be where she is...
You're # 3 baby!!!! And trust me, if my manager wasn't in between us today, it would have been ON AND POPPIN with that bitch. I'm gonna see what happens tommorow when I go back in.
