I got back home 5.am and so I wasn't able to write this sooner. But, here goes:
I arrived at Tavastia 6.pm and the queue was already extremely long:P I wish I had arrived sooner so I would have gotten a place in a first row but maybe next time. The queue kept getting longer and longer behind me when they opened the doors to Tavastia. When I got inside it was clear that the security was very strict. No cameras (obviously), no big objects one might throw on the stage, but also no handbags were allowed, besides the very small ones.
Merchandize:
A small table selling Moi dix Mois goodies was very soon surrounded by people wishing to get their share. They were selling sticker sheets with Moi dix Mois logo and images of Mana and another sticker sheet starring Matin:) Cd's were also available, and yes, Malice Mizer's Bara no Seidou was available too. Among other things they were selling were two differend kinds of t-shirts, Mana badges, M10M bag, Beyond the Gate photobook and Dixanadu LP which looked very cool and had a poster with it. I was gonna buy it but it was a bit too expensive and I had already thought about ordering the Dixanadu poster elsewhere. I only bought the Moi dix Mois girly t-shirt, because I didn't find anything else there that interesting.
On with the show:
There was no way sneaking in the first row without getting hurt since the people were so tightly gathered together. Instead I made my way to the balcony (which is usually used as a VIP section) and me and my friends got a great place where we could see the entire stage clearly and we even climbed on a bench to make us taller:D At 8.pm people started screming "Moi dix Mois" and getting restless. When Sacred Lake started playing the audience went crazy screaming their lungs out, knowing what was gonna happen next!
The first to arrive at the stage was Hayato who was wearing a black skirt-like trousers and a very elegant white blouse. He had somesorta collar around his neck but I wasn't able to make sense what it really was. He looked very relaxed and pleased as he made his way to his drums.
Next was Sugiya. He was wearing that adorable nunboy outfit of his I was so hoping to see! Sugiya made his way on the left side of the stage next to Hayato.
The next to arrive was K. He had very dark make-up which made him look like Marilyn Manson, but that wasn't a big surprise since he always looks like that. He had a black fishnet shirt on and the same kind of black skirtlike trousers as Haytao. K took his place on the left side of the stage making the left side of the audience scream in delight.
Then it was Mana's turn. He stood on the stage clearly enjoying the audience's excitement. People were screming his name over and over, and to tell you the truth, it was pretty damn awesome finally see the man live. So I must admit I might have screamed like a crazy person too;) Mana had his new white outfit on, with black platform boots and somesorta tight black pants. The outfit made him look very elegant and nearly angelic like. Awesome outfit without a doubt.
Last but not least was Seth. He had his white outfit on with his trademark eyepatch. Seth acted very dramatic as he walked to his spot and the audience loved it. It became very clear that Seth is just as good stage performer as Juka was. Seth welcomed the audience yelling "Helssiiinggg" and something in Japanese.
The setlist: ( I will update this later when I have the time)
Because of my excitement I have absolutely no idea what the setlist was^_~ I believe the songs were the same ones as they had with the Japan tour but in different order. The beginning of the show was filled with fast, heavy songs like Vain making people headbang and the band seemed really enjoy the atmosphere. The much talked DIX parapara lesson was intoduced by K. He spoke rather good English and gave instructions about the D-I-X handgestures with the other members. I think it was really nice and made people laugh. A nice add to the show. And it didn't last more than about 4 or 5 minutes. We went throught the DIX four or five times and they strated playing Dispell Bound. Everybody seemed to love doing the DIX sign. I know I did:)
Alltogether the set was very heavy and fast. Songs like Exclude, Last Temptaion and Immortal Madness were played one after another which in my opinion made it hard to keep in track which song was which. Forbidden, as always, turned out to be the one song people sang along. Deux ex Machina was brilliant! Hearing it live made the song really come alive and it was one of the song that really made people go wild. The entire balcony section was singing along and dancing. I thought the energy up where I was were bigger than the energy down there, in front of the stage! I felt really bad for those little girls in front of the stage, standing behind lots of people. I doubt if they were able to see the members at all.
The band was called back to encore two times, and it was easy to see this made the band very happy and touched. I bet the fact that the audience showed so much love for the band were even more than they were prepared for. Afterall, it was their first time in Finland.
Raising hell: How to win the hearts of the audience
I wasn't staring at Mana all the time (honestly) so I payed attention to how the other members acted and interacted with the audience.
K basically stood still the entire show, minus those times when he changed positions with Mana. I was hoping he had moved around lot more. He didn't show off or made the fans scream on purpose or do any of those things many Japanese band members are famous for. I don't know if this relaxed, sticking in one place is like him, or maybe he was just tired.
Hayato looked very energetic swinging his head side to side, smiling and singing along with Seth. I was very impressed with his skills and charisma.
Sugiya too stood still nearly the entire show. But in the two encore sets he started moving around getting more contact with people. I guess he was just a bit nervous. I loved that cute little goodbye gesture he made when he left the stage:)
Mana was very much like he always is. Showing of his red and blue blinking Jeune Fille, doing his little spins and making the audience scream. Mana knows how to make a good show and seemed to be in a very energetic mood moving around the stage alot. Lucky ones were even able to get his guitar picks as he threw like 4 or 5 of 'em to the audience. I enjoyed watching him play very much.
Seth surprised me completely. Not only the man has a amazing voice he is also relaxed, mesmerizing performer. His hand gestures and movement reminded me a bit of Klaha back in the days of MM. Seth sang very emotionally, did dramatic gestures and won the heart of the audience. No matter what he said in Japanese people went wild. And of course he deserves extra points because when the show was over he thanked us in Finnish, "Kiitos":)
So...
I have to say the live was incredible and I enjoyed it very much. It was everything I had thought it would be and even more. The band seemed genuinely touched by of the love they received that night. I believe finnish fans were able to show the band it will be worth coming here and I think I speak behalf everybody there that we will welcome the band with open arms in the next tour. And I'm sure they will be happy to return to Finland too.
