i have just realized that the reason people disappoint me so much is i hold everyone to such high standards. i mean, think about it; if you EXPECT to be crapped on all the time, then when that a person comes along that is better than crap, you will be pleasently surprised; but never disappointed.

Like I said, I don't think your standards are really that high. You expect from most people what you should expect from them, espcially the people who are the closest to you and the people you have known the longest.
