Spoiler: THIS IS NOT TRUE. THIS IS IRONIC.

You'll have to excuse me if there are any typing errors in this post, but you see, darlings, I can barely lift my fingers for the weighty diamond rings they're encrusted with. Come to think of it, I've got a sore neck, too. Must be the several tonnes of pearl ropes dragging me down. This platinum keyboard isn't much cop, either. Not very tactile. ( Read more... )

So exactly what (or rather who) engendered this little literary gem?
Obviously someone has completely the wrong idea - but who? At least a link to the item that begun such a genteel rant needs to be in the public eye...

I would link, but it's beneath me. I don't wish to fan the flames, as it were. The post that spawned this isn't written by anyone any of my friends list know, but it was basically about the fact that we obviously have a lot of money and use LJ to brag about this, and our many extortionate plans. Yes. Ha.

Apart from DT, there is only one effeminate man who loves you more. (And it's me).

You rock like Wilma Flintsone.

Oh, you darling man. If I weren't with the man of my dreams, and if I wasn't female, and if I was gay, I would ruthlessly seduce you. ;)

Darling - is there someone somewhere who needs to be slapped? I'm more than happy to oblige. In fact I shall organise an entire posse.

Failing that, I think we ought to descend upon you bearing fizz.

Thank you sweetie, but nobody needs slapping. Shown the way to distinguish between posts saying 'we'd really like to do this if we had the money' and 'we're absolutely loaded! We are going to do _________ with a huge pile of our massive fortune', perhaps. I miss you, and we must meet up soon, though!

This was, deliberately, an entirely over-the-top and not to be taken seriously post, hence the 'this is not true, this is ironic' strapline. At no point did I mention your names or even give hints as to what prompted the post (as you can see by the comments of people asking what was going on). Nor have I since told people what prompted it or mentioned your names. To anyone (online or otherwise). I did, however, feel justified in wanting to blow off a little steam in my own journal, seeing as you used yours to 'tell everyone' that 'obviously' we had money, as we were always writing about it in our journals. This is not at all the case, as you would know from reading those very same posts with us worrying about not being able to pay bills or talking about how many months it has been since we've bee able to afford to see our friends or family. I fail to see how you link what you both admit to us "contemplating" doing things with money in the future (and as for holidays or mortgages, they are going to be way in the future. As in several ( ... )

Lately, every single post the two of you have made have had personal digs. However justified you felt making those, you cannot then complain when the people those digs were directly aimed at aren't particularly happy about it. DT spent a long time replying to the lengthy comment his brother last left in a completely unrelated post on his journal. He replied via email (the address that Martyn has on his livejournal profile page, which he assumed was current - though your comments suggest you have not read this email. It was sent immediately after Martyn left the comment on DT's post. Either that address is not correct, or you made these latest comments before reading that email). He decided to email his reply because there is, as you yourself say, no need to play this out in a public forum. If Martyn can reply to livejournal posts, he can email (if not from that address, if he no longer uses it - then from any free emailing service). Please do not have a go about conducting this on livejournal when DT has not been the one using ( ... )
