It's my day off, so what fun and frolicsome activities have I been up to so far?

- Had a doctor's appointment. Discovered the excruciating pain I've been getting in the heel of my left foot is Plantar Fasciitis. Oh joy. This is really fabulous as I have to spend all day on my feet at work, so can't rest it. The bit about it being worse first thing ( Read more... )

It is! :( Did you rest it at all, or just take painkillers, wear supportive shoes and get on with it?

I'm not allowed to wear trainers at work, or anything other than "smart, flat, black work shoes", but shall hope that these Scholl shock absorber shoes work!

Did you know the colloqual name for your condition is 'Policeman's Foot'?

Mumsy suffered from it once and had great fun with a large shopping bag and a gleeful bragging she had a policeman's foot. Hers just went off after wearing a heel pad and then insoles.

I was going to say, I had that and Joza told me what it was!
I am fairly sure that mine was brought on by fairly constant boot wearing. My physio gave me some stretching exercises and some special insoles to wear inside boots and then I started wearing shoes a bit more which helped too, and eventually it disappeared but it was horrible so much sympathy.

hello, Princess-- you don't know me, and my comment has little to do with your feet except that I am terribly sympathetic to you, and it will go away, I swear it. And that which does not kill us drives us to drink, right?

Anyway, I'm commenting to you because I once ordered perfumes from beyond The pale, and I would like to order again, and I see that she has not posted to her livejournal nor updated her website since who-knows-when... And that is worrying, for her sake far more than for her perfumes (which I wish I could order)

can you update me?

Hi there - thank you so much for taking time to suggest these places to me, I really appreciate it! I especially like the sound of Stuttgart and Berchtesgarden. The information about many places not being open during that time is also really useful.

We don't speak much German, but always found when we did that it was, as you say, very much appreciated. I think it's only polite to try and speak the language of the country you are visiting. :)
