Baby Sitting Schedule/Pay

I was looking on craigs list in my area and most of the inhome baby sitters I found were charging $75- $100 a week for infants (6am-6pm). A fellow Navy wife offered to baby sit for us and I am trying to come up with a reasonable pay schedule for the hours that we will need her. My husbands schedule changes every week in 5 week shifts, below is a

Wow, those prices seem really low to me! We're sending Logan to daycare for 3 days a week and it will cost me $35.00 a day (no matter how long he's there). I live in rural upstate NY too, not a city or anything like that. Maybe you should just pick a fixed amount per day that you'd be willing to spend (maybe $25.00?) and offer that instead of working out the hours? My theory is the better they get paid the more they'll want to make sure your baby is taken care of and want to keep watching your kid!
