Pat came up beside Tara and wrapped his arm around her waist, kissing her cheek affectionately. He handed her a glass of diet lemonade with a lemon slice. "You know, if you don't eventually stop moving around like a blow fly, darling, your feet will drop off," he warned teasingly.

Tara laughed and kissed his forehead. "Says the eloping newlywed," she teased right back, shaking her head as she looked over his face. "Look at you. You're glowing, sweetness. If I ever had to predict someone would run away with their beloved and elope, it wouldn't be you. But I'm so happy for you both! Another one bites the dust!"
Re: Pat & TarasexyinscrubsApril 11 2009, 15:08:55 UTC
"You know I prefer to be spontaneous and fabulous, lovely," Pat told her with a grin. His eyes trailed to his brand new husband sitting with Luke and his cousin on the sofa. "I didn't actually think I would ever be lucky to be a dust biter in this bunch. I was happy to be the cheerleader for the rest of you. He took me by surprise and swept me off my feet. I know it was sudden and ideally we would've wanted you all with us, but sometimes you just have to live for the moment because you might never find the moment again."
Re: Pat & TaradoctortaraApril 11 2009, 15:14:20 UTC
Tara squeezed him in a secure hug. "You'll have plenty of moments to come, sweetheart. This is only just the beginning. Trust me from an old married woman, it just gets better. You've been so down on yourself since you got sick. I was worried I might never see the fabulous again. For the first time in a long time, you're really smiling... no pain there," she noticed, cupping his face and brushing her thumb against his cheek. "And you're well. Marriage agrees with you. It's just icing on the cake that your hubby is adorable and as sexy as all hell," she laughed.

Pat had said it wasn't a secret. He'd said it was only a matter of timing. Either way, Lachlan was drunk and he was drunk and proud of his best mate. 'Ecstatic' would have been a good description, but 'ecstatic' and 'sloshed' could have tendency to get a little messy. In this case, Lachlan was giggling by the time he came to an end of Queen's 'You're My Best Friend' on SingStar. Only two more songs to go and he would be right through the whole disc and the only way anyone else seemed to be getting a turn was if Lachlan shared the mic with them. Duets were better fun when you were drunk, anyway

Riley nearly dropped his drink. He was gaping at Lachlan and then turned to gape at Pat across the room, his mouth hanging open. Never mind the fact Lachlan had just said Pat eloped to a fungal infection. "He what?!" Riley squeaked in shock. See, this. This was why Lachlan was a questionable drunk. No one could ever predict what was going to come out of his mouth.
Re: Riley & LachlandrcampbellApril 12 2009, 01:51:09 UTC
Lachlan gave Riley a sloppy kiss on the cheek with a grin. "Aye! Married! Hey, Pat! Wedding night is the best night ever, huh?" He held his glass up to Pat across the room, who was also gaping in shock at Lachlan breaking the news. Lachlan nudged Riley. "Just you wait. You'll see. Best night ever. You get shagged for hours. Naked."

Lachlan drunk was something Riley was well used to. But drunk Lachlan breaking the news that Pat was married? Pat was married. Riley looked around and could see the shock was passing and people were grinning and hugging Aiden and Pat across the room. Riley would have to talk to Pat later. Luke was staring at Aiden, stunned, too, as was Andrew. It was about out of left field as any news could be. Riley didn't know whether he should be hurt or not. Lachlan obviously wasn't. He was grinning like a cheshire cat whilst simultaneously reaching over to pinch Tara's butt. Luckily Lachlan had his sporran on with his kilt right now otherwise certain things would probably be blatantly obvious.
"I can't believe Pat got married," he finally said, awed. "Just like that."
Tab might have been plotting how to tackle the mic from Lachlan, but that was before his drunken announcement. Now she was just staring at Aiden and Pat, and Lachlan, then her brother. Aiden and Pat had eloped. Her wedding planner had fucking eloped, and so had her publicist. Or former publicist given her album had been out for a few months now.
Her eyes searched for Luke to see how he had taken the news. He was close to Aiden, but the shock clearly said he hadn't had any idea. After the shock faded, Tab just found herself grinning. It was fantastic news. Other people getting married had never been her problem, it was her getting married that had always been a stumbling block.
She glanced back at Lachlan and her brother, eyes narrowing as she wondered if maybe she could just sneak up there and slip the mic from his hands now he was preoccupied with Tara's butt.
Aiden came up behind Tab, leaning close to her ear. "I'll tackle him from below and you can pounce on him from the front. I think between the two of us, we would have approximately twelve seconds to get the mic before he realises it's gone. But you'll have to run fast. It could get ugly. There might be bloodshed," he said in a covert, hushed whisper.

"Hey, I am incredibly fast at running I'll have you know. I had to be to get away from my giant of a brother." Tab tilted her head as she considered Aiden's plan. "Hm... not sure you really want to tackle the Kilted One given his penchant for getting a hard on near his wife regardless of company. And you are a married man now."
Re: Aiden & TabmrpublicityApril 12 2009, 07:17:05 UTC
"Hey, there is nothing wrong with six-foot tall blokes," Aiden laughed, waving at himself. "My sister still kicked my arse repeatedly."
He watched Lachlan in amusement. "He's making up for lost time. And he's male. He might not get over that until he's, oh, eighty or so." He raised his eyebrows. "Yes, and apparently The Evil Scotsman saved us the hassle of sending out announcements."
Riley saw Pat abruptly leave the room and saw Tara rub her hand over her mouth and look close to tears in response. Something had happened. But he was locked against Lachlan who was singing enthusiastically into the microphone, the words getting more and more slurred and more and more Scottish as he went. Riley had actually been about to seek Evie out, but this seemed vital

Pat nudged his foot against the grass to stop the swinging and glanced at Riley before looking back at the ground. "Yeah, of course you can, darling," he said quietly, putting the cigarette to his lips.
Re: Riley & PatpullmystethApril 12 2009, 10:03:24 UTC
Riley sat down on the swing beside Pat and watched him closely in the dim light from the house. "Are you okay?" he asked. "You don't look it. Isn't the post-marriage phase supposed to be one of the best of your life...?"
Re: Riley & PatsexyinscrubsApril 12 2009, 11:28:52 UTC
"I'm just tired, sweetheart. It's been a long week. Plus, Vancouver is four hours behind Princeton. I'm still catching up." Pat offered his packet of smokes and his lighter to Riley. "You should be inside, darling. It's cool out here tonight."
Evie had watched Riley exit, and she'd immediately sought out Tara. She'd seen her talking to Pat, but now there seemed to be no Pat, and Riley had made a rather quick exit. He didn't even look like he'd been going out just for a smoke. Evie excused herself from Beth, and went over to her best friend, Tara's husband now occupied by more Queen, and some Scotch.
"Lachlan's loyalties seem to shift rather easily between you and Queen when he's drunk," she teased lightly.
Re: Evie & TaradoctortaraApril 12 2009, 10:20:49 UTC
Tara blinked, taken by surprise at the voice. She had still been basically staring at the spot Pat had disappeared from. She forced a small laugh, glancing at her husband. "It's a close competition, but I have the boobs. That trumps Queen every time," she joked.
Re: Evie & TaraimnodoctorApril 12 2009, 10:30:06 UTC
"Boobs should always come before Queen," Evie laughed as she tucked some stray strands of hair behind her ears. She reached out to touch Tara's shoulder lightly and smiled. "You okay, sweetheart?"
Re: Evie & TaradoctortaraApril 12 2009, 10:37:59 UTC
"At least while I can still fill a C cup," Tara said with a small laugh. She exhaled slowly and and rubbed her forehead. "Not really. I just upset Pat. Really upset him."
