Riley's suspicions had been correct all along. On top of surprising Tara with a surprise second wedding at Edinburgh Castle on the night of their first anniversary, Lachlan had pulled in even more favours and booked out the pub he and his band used to play at for a night. It helped that he was old mates with the owner, but still, the scene was set and probably had been for months. The whole pub was theirs, and Lachlan had his old band reformed for the night, with one change... Tab was joining him in the lead singing. There was nothing structed about it. Just lots of good alcohol and music surrounded by loads of Lachlan's family and old friends from Edinburgh.
He and Tab took turns at the mic, for once the pain in the arse Scot relinquishing his beloved mic. He was part of a band that night, it was a whole different song book. The night had been rocking from the minute they took the stage, most not really expecting him to go through with it. All his friends were well aware of how close he came to losing his life, many thinking Lachlan would never step foot in this very pub again, let alone take to the stage. But the tables were turned on the elusive Yodalan when, after suspecting Lachlan an Ace up his sleeve for their final night in Scotland before needing to flow out the following night, Riley managed to be a couple of steps ahead. Just as the night was setting off, Pat stepped into the bar hand-in-hand with Aiden, then couple flying back for the final two nights of the Scotland trip. A heart-to-heart a couple of days prior between Riley and Lachlan alerted Riley to some deep issues Lachlan was trying to deal with and he wanted to surprise the Scot just like he had been surprising everyone else. A surprise it definitely was. When he saw Pat arrive, he nearly took a tripping dive off the end of the stage, crowd-surfing having nothing to do with it. Riley figured it would kill two birds with one stone... Lachlan could have a complete circle of his friends surrounding him, and Pat and Aiden could finally have a proper 'reception' for their marriage.
Lachlan pointed, gaping in shock as Pat held his hands up with a devious grin. "Thanks for the invite, Lachie darling, you gigantic prick!" Pat called out over the crowd and affectionately flipped his best mate off before blowing him an elaborate kiss.
Lachlan grinned, hand clutching the microphone. "Likewise, you queen!" he called back. "I'm still waiting on the wedding invitation! Ladies and Gentleman, the married bastard formerly known as Patrick Preston!" All their friends started to laugh as Lachlan jumped off the stage and bounded over to Pat and Aiden, throwing his arms around his friend in a firm hug. "It's good to see you, buddy. How did you know?" In the background, he heard Tab take the microphone and burst into an enthusiastic song to match the cheers of the crowd.
