Ali & Andrew's Wedding | Reception & Halloween Party!

Nov 01, 2009 18:05

The wedding reception was off to more than a perfect start, and not one of the guests had failed in jumping right into both the wedding and Halloween spirit. In every sense of it, it was a wedding reception, with the decor matching the church for the ceremony and a huge chocolate wedding cake standing proudly off to the side, which would be served ( Read more... )

Iz & Ali isabelowens November 1 2009, 07:35:57 UTC
Izzy had waited until Pierce had walked away before coming up to her best friend. The pregnancy was getting harder to hide, and he'd stuck her on desk work. She couldn't blame him. The most she could do out in the field was maybe whack criminals with her body. And since she had twins, her belly was bigger than most women's.

It also made searching for a costume incredibly hard. There had been exactly six choices at the store that didn't involve body paint, so Iz had gone with being the devil. She highly doubted she was carrying the spawn of Satan, but since everyone else probably thought she was Satan, she figured why not just get it out in the open.

She reached in as best she could to get some pineapple to dip into the chocolate, making sure her bump didn't knock any of the table setting. "You're an amazing woman, Al. I really go to hand it to you when it comes to throwing a party. Once again you show off your evil genius skills."

Ali had been lost in her thoughts, not realising at first that Izzy had come up beside her. It was actually very brave of anyone to come between her and chocolate, even done up in a wedding dress. She had just shoved the red frog in her mouth, which was more an Aussie thing that Andy had requested than anything having grown up on them as a child, and now had to chew her way through it before she could talk again or she would dribble chocolate down the front of her dress. Red frogs in chocolate didn't sound appealing but who gave a fuck? Luckily she didn't have any fillings. At a nearby table, Sunshine, who was dressed as a ladybug, being nursed by - of all people - Cameron, was working her way through her own red frog and dribbling the remnants all down the front of Cameron's disco costume and simultaneously smearing red drool all over the table in front of her. "Not just any party," she pointed out. "I'm only doing this once. I had to get it right."

Izzy hadn't realised when she'd looked over to watch Sunshine that Cameron was the one holding her. Only there was no mistaking the biceps straining through the jacket and shirt, and Iz pressed her lips together as she felt a pang in her heart at seeing him with the little girl.

She quickly looked away, her attention back on Ali as she kissed her friend's cheek. "I can't see you ever needing to do this again since you have Andy. He's amazing, Al. Really. He's everything you deserve. Although maybe when you reach fifty years of marriage you might consider renewing your vows. Plus it's the golden anniversary, isn't it? Think of all the shiny wedding gifts."

Ali watched Cameron with her daughter for a few moments, and probably would have laughed when Pat, who was sitting beside Cameron, started tackling the red-tinged dribble with some napkins including wiping Sunshine's little hands like he was an expert at it. Her attention was drawn away at the mention of her brand new husband, automatically searching him out in the crowd and finding him dancing with his Mum on the dancefloor.

She broke into a smile, unable to stop it whenever Andrew was brought up again. She really was sure her face was going to break with all the smiles. "Oh come on. With a cock like he's packing, I don't need shiny," she said, running her tongue along her lower lip in anticipation. "Now I just get to play with it whenever I like. The ring says so."

Tab was ecstatic to be out of her lavender dress. As much as she loved Ali for letting her rock it up at the ceremony the whole lavender thing had been getting to her. She was no stranger to short skirts and the occasional dress when needed - like her own wedding - but Tab was happiest in pants. Which is why it had been a difficult choice to settle on her Halloween costume. She'd been tempted to come as Han Solo, but in the end she'd gone with Princess Leia. Just about every man and their dog had worn the slave costume, so she was going old school. Elliot would be proud since it was a homage to the outfit seen in the first Star Wars movie ( ... )

Riley had no idea how he let Evie talk him into the cowboy costume. Now that he was here, he was self-conscious about the chest thing and had made a concerted effort to try and do the laces up he front to hide it. It definitely wasn't the most revealing costume in the room, but he also wasn't much of an exhibitionist. In fact, he needed a drink to make it through and not want to change back into his wedding tux.

"I've decided I'm never coming to another dress-up party again," he said to his sister as he down a glass of champagne he had plucked off the tray of a passing waitress. He couldn't believe it had been a year since the Halloween party here last year, when Tara was still in all her pregnant glory and only a few weeks off giving birth. The year felt like it had passed in an oblivion and another two bit the marriage dust.

Tab sniggered and tucked her blaster under her arm to take a glass of champagne too, but she was planning on making it last. Tab could usually hold her drink, but champagne made her drunk quickly. She was actually hoping to see the night out even if she did want to see at least half of it out riding Luke hard...

She patted her brother's arm in consolation, and squeezed it a little bit. "Hey, did you work out because you knew you'd be wearing this thing? I swear you're getting some muscle back. Also, I'm surprised Evie didn't force you into arseless chaps. She's done nothing but stare at your arse all night. Just like Ali and those pants she squeezed Andy into."

Riley automatically blushed and grabbed at the front of the vest, trying to pull it closed again. "I haven't worked out in ages. I couldn't afford to lose anymore weight back then." But he looked down at himself analytically, tilting his head a little. "Do you think? I haven't really thought much about myself since I was sick."

He shrugged and moved on to the second glass of champagne, taking it slower this time. "I could be standing in a shredded towel and she would still be looking at me like I was a tier of that cake. Do you know it took for of us blokes to get him into those pants? He nearly castrated himself on the zipper."

James [OPEN] agentfraser November 1 2009, 09:24:09 UTC
James really was contemplating whether it was worth drinking the straight double shot of scotch on the rocks. Truth was, he still had distinct memories of how sick he felt in the lead up, and after, his most recent coma. Then, getting blind drunk after sleeping with Izzy and breaking up with Harri when he poured his heart out to Mark. He wasn't sure he wanted to get drunk, but he did want to stop feeling so alone. Which is what had him sitting at the bar dressed as an Eighties punk rocker nursing an untouched glass of booze.

He hadn't even managed to get Ali alone to tell her what he needed to, and Andrew, despite being shy, actually turned out to be an extremely popular guy so nabbing him for a conversation seemed impossible. With his massive family and massive string of paramedic colleagues, he was literally shifting from one person to the next without stopping. He took a small sip of the scotch, but it didn't even taste appealing and he scrunched his nose up. He really didn't want it tonight.

Harri hadn't felt like going costume shopping so she'd used one of her expensive white sheets as a toga instead. It allowed for her to be barefoot, and go braless. At this stage of the pregnancy she could have cared less what people thought. She was fucking pregnant, and the could all shove their opinions up their arses ( ... )

James had to double-take. The accent had his mind clicking to Ali at first, but his rationality told him it wasn't his best friend. She was probably still too busy at the the refreshments table or with her husband's cock and arse. He pulled his posture up, not realising he had slumped forward and wet his lips. "I'm fine. Just trying to play the part," he lied and went to brave another sip, but ended up putting the glass back down, unable to stomach it. "Nice outfit."

"Well, if you can't get away with a sheet while you're pregnant and at a costume party, what's the point?" Harri replied with a slight smile. She asked the bar tender dressed as a mad scientist for two waters, and went back to looking at James. "Ali looks beautiful today."

Andrew [OPEN, TAG LUKE, LEILA, ALI] paramedically November 1 2009, 10:44:41 UTC
Andrew was looking around for his cousins as he rapidly drunk down a large glass of Diet Coke. He was parched from all the dancing and mingling and had managed to nab a breather near the refreshment table to catch his breath. He wanted to make sure Leila was okay in the wake of the visit to Rob, and also wanted to thank Luke for letting Ali use the private staff bathrooms for the evening. Both bride and groom were aware this was the place Ali miscarried on his birthday not very long ago, and she didn't want to go into the ladies room where it had happened to drag bad back memories and ruin the night. Luke had completely understood, more than happy for the bridal party to use the staff bathrooms. Apparently Ali's dress was so neatly fit to her that it was impossible for her to manage to have a pee on her own without the help from one of her bridesmaids to undo her. She deserved privacy as it was ( ... )

Luke's costume choice wasn't a hard one to make. He had joked with Andrew that he would dress up as a paramedic for the party. Andrew had just laughed at him at the time, so of course Luke did it anyway. When he spotted that his cousin finally had a brief moment to catch his breath, Luke zeroed in on him and hugged him from behind, planting a wet kiss on his cheek. "Andy, my favourite newlywed cousin in the whole wide world. Oh, well, after Lei that is. You just look way better in a tux than she does. How's the gut? All relaxed now the vows and the rings are out of the way?"

Andrew wiped at his cheek and lightly nudged Luke in the gut with his elbow, laughing. "I'm fine, wanker. As you said many times, you're in no position to judge on wedding day nerves. At least I just hurled a few times and didn't nearly leave my bride at the altar. Granted, she would have given me a colonoscopy with my own head if I had, but my point still stands. Have you spoken to Leila since we got back? I was just trying to find her, see if she was okay."

Luke shook his head. "I've seen her around. She was with Kara and Zoe a little while ago. I think she just taking it easy so she can head back to the hospital later. Apparently they're giving her some leeway with visiting after Ali reefed them a new one yesterday," he said, laughing. Andrew's new wife was, without a doubt, one of a kind with a very kind heart. Both Leila and Rob were smiling by the time they left the hospital, and Leila had seemed much more at ease in the wake of it.

He took Andrew's left hand, holding it up in front of them to study the shiny, thick wedding band. "So, how does it feel? Weird? I remember it took me a few days to get used to wearing mine. You won't notice it soon, though. I think it suits you, man."
