It also made searching for a costume incredibly hard. There had been exactly six choices at the store that didn't involve body paint, so Iz had gone with being the devil. She highly doubted she was carrying the spawn of Satan, but since everyone else probably thought she was Satan, she figured why not just get it out in the open.

"I've decided I'm never coming to another dress-up party again," he said to his sister as he down a glass of champagne he had plucked off the tray of a passing waitress. He hadn't even managed to get Ali alone to tell her what he needed to, and Andrew, despite being shy, actually turned out to be an extremely popular guy so nabbing him for a conversation seemed impossible. With his massive family and massive string of paramedic colleagues, he was literally shifting from one person to the next without stopping. He took a small sip of the scotch, but it didn't even taste appealing and he scrunched his nose up. He really didn't want it tonight.
