I went to the mall yesterday and collected job applications. I picked up 8 and have two jobs to apply for online. I also have one other application I picked up day before yesterday. I'm supposed to be out getting job applications right now, but I'm being irresponsible and putting it off. I'm just so sick of applying for jobs that I don't really want. Blah. I hate stuff
I received a generic email this morning from Hyatt HR informing me that they had considered my application and were not going to hire me. I'm so much more irritated now. I know it all came down to the fact that I didn't have previous experience... so why did they waste so much of my time when they knew this from the start?! I wish I could just not ( Read more... ) -
Frustration
I am having a grumpy week. I had my interview at the Hyatt Tuesday and before I got there thought I would be hired before I left. I've probably heard from the first guy that interviewed me there about 6 times since my first set of interviews. Vacation
I'm back home right now for the week. I flew down Thursday and will be here until next Thursday. I've spent the last couple days up at my parent's lakehouse though. Tonight my sister, her boyfriend and I are meeting our aunt and grandmother at Maggiano's for dinner. Tomorrow I'm hanging out with Lynnea. Being home hasn't actually been all that ( Read more... ) -
frustrations
Justin has his on-call night tonight. That sucks because it means I won't see him again till tomorrow. And I already haven't seen him since last night. And I am impatient *pouts*. That and I'm bored. another weekend
Friday, we discovered a really yummy Mexican restaurant by the mall here called El Rodeo and all their stuff was so fresh :) Saturday we went ring shopping again to two places and we figured out what I want pretty much. update time
Ok, I really need to update on things. I lasted 3 days at that "perfect job". On my second day, I found out that we don't get paid hourly except for the first couple weeks while we're training. After that it's all commission. We keep half of what we fundraise (which I feel guilty taking half of the money people think they're giving to a good cause ( Read more... ) -
Just Life
I've now worked two days at my new job. It's been very up and down for me so far. Basically, I go door to door telling people what issue our organization is working on and ask for the support and a donation. What I love about the job is the people I work with, what the organization stands for, finding out details of stuff you don't even know about ( Read more... ) -
Did I really just find a job this cool?
I had a job interview today. I found the job advertised in the Indy Star (newspaper) and called to find out more. It's a job with the Citizen's Action Coalition of Indiana. They fight for environmental legislature and to keep the electric companies inline, and also are all about health benefits for everyone and tree-hugging... all that fun hippie ( Read more... )
