About friending - it means a few things. One, they'll be able to see your 'friends only' posts. You'll also see all their posts (that they allow you to see) on your friends page.

Journals live at http://livejournal.com/users/user_name_here/
but replace user_name_here with the username of the person you want to see.

To add a person to your friends list, you have to go to their user info page (http://www.livejournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=allandaros) and click on the abstract-person-with-plus-sign icon (which takes you to http://www.livejournal.com/friends/add.bml?user=user_name_here).

Okay, I'm done boring you now. yayfor the awesome dorm you're going to be in, 'twill be much roxor.
