New Story!

Inspiration truly hits at the strangest times. I was just going to wash my hair and out comes this weird sort of daydreamy idea that my mind morphed into the bones of a plot for a story. It started out as a "tired character study" and turned into something that could potentially be a half-decent literary journey. We'll see how it goes.

I'm starting a little bit on it tonight but I spent most of my time naming characters I had formed in my head, giving them backgrounds, info, and world-building.

When I say world-building I mean did more than my usual trick of thinking of a random name for a place as I was writing the story in progress. I'm actually making a mental map (BEFORE I start!), putting down a general population, and telling a bit about the setting , main draw of the city, and how far it is from the den of evil! Everyone should be exceptionally proud of me. *looks around expectantly*

But anyway, I'll hopefully post the first blurb of it in the next few days. But here's a general summary of what I have so far

Setting: Fantasy/Ever-so-slightly dystopic world
Premise: What if reincarnation gave people magical powers? (no, not in the MoB way even if the process is similar)
Second Premise: What if these magical people...wait. If I say that now I'm giving a part of my story away. You'll have to find out in the text when I post it.
You Can Expect: More than one Male/Male relationship (I usually stick to a main couple for that), violence, general tomfoolery, laughing in the face of physics, impossible injuries, cynical love, sweet love, a hint of drama, a bit of creepiness, and for me to take long breaks from writing the story.
Wait, What's the Rating?: Probably M (17+) due to the homicidal tendencies of one character, general violence since there's the whole evil war thing going on, and probably mature themes when I get around to writing about this other character. As for smexy scenes, I've never written more than one or two so it honestly depends on the tone of the story and how that goes. I might try, revise, and possibly post anything like that as an addendum when I'm done with major parts of the main plot. That would push the rating to up a year (18+) in my book because I'm working off of ESRB's stringent rules for video games and excessive violence and creepiness is somehow always more acceptable than sex. Oh America.

Those are some general ideas I have at the outset, so please tune in again if you're interested in reading my mistake-riddled first drafts of chapters. I would appreciate feedback, actually, just so long as it's the good and the bad ; D!
