In case you haven't heard, I thought I would mention that Apple is recalling a whole bunch of laptop batteries.

In other words: free laptop batteries! If your Mac laptop battery has lost some of its charge life, and you happen to have the right kind, this is a sweet deal. They'll send you the replacement first, at which point you send in the old one, so you don't even lose use of your laptop.

They're all from the same manufacturer, though Apple hasn't had any actual trouble with them.

That's a boring explanation. Try again.

Well, the real reason is that Xenu and the Body Thetans have begun a project of bombarding North America with essemer radiation, which has the unfortunate side effect of making the vanadium molecules in certain batteries form crytalline linkages that cross-connect the terminals, leading to overheating, explosions, and a feeling of uneasy bliss in the user. But I didn't realize you were a ninth-level Pendergast, so I made up the lie about Sony.

it's not a *new* laptop battery recall from apple. it's an extension of the old one from last year. it turned out that the newer batteries still had the problem, so they extended it.

gallian.
