Before I realized that this was actually supposed to be FFAC, my first thought when I saw Ivy was, "Gee, that outfit is really reminiscent of Tifa." I'm a dork. ^^;

Why too bad? Are referencing that one comedian's bit about how everything is Pachabel's Canon in D or do you just prefer it over Fur Elise?

Mostly the comedian thing: We've been listening to it on loop since I discovered it, and I seriously have to hear it at least once a day. Ergo, if something has to copy a classic song, Pachabel would have had me in stitches.
