Elemental Updates

2011 will be the last model year of the Honda Element.  It was due to be replaced in 2012 by moving from a short wheel based Pilot to a long wheel based CRV.  But Honda has decided to drop both the Element and CRV in favor of a new model in between they will call the CRV.

I feel the same and will keep mine as long as I can regardless what I choose when I replace my sedans.

I halfheartedly looked at the new Elements but was disappointed to see they no longer offer manual transmissions with AWD.

So, they're merging the two models and calling it the CR-V? Seems odd to me. I always loved the look of the Element, and I wanted one for a long time. Of course, now that I purchased a new vehicle over the weekend, this new Honda will be unveiled and I'll want it desperately!

i haven't seen pictures or any details of it yet.

VW did something similar with the new Passat. They kept calling it the NMS, new midsized sedan, built in America that will replace the Passat as we aren't getting the one made in Germany. Then when they debuted it, they called it a... Passat, which looked just like the German one - but made much more cheaply.
