Last weekend my short film "Apathy Breeds Contempt" screened as part of the Sacramento Horror Film Festival. It was actually the second time my film was screening in California. Since I had actually heard of Sacramento, Apathy was nominated for Best Short there and the festival seemed to be pretty large with music shows and celebrities, I decided

That sucks about them having troubles starting your flick, man... ShockerFest started the trailer, too, but they got that fixed very quickly and it was smooth sailing from there. Sounds like you had a pretty good time, if not slightly strange in places. :D

In my opinion, the best thing about Excision was Tessa Ferrer, the lead actress. The effects were good and I thought it looked pretty, but she really stood out. And I loved Prombies -- the make-up effects alone were wonderful. It's too bad that AM 1200 wasn't shown, I think you'd dig that one if you haven't seen it already. That and The Mercury Men were two of my favourite shorts at ShockerFest.

Yeah I thought Excision should have won Best Direct maybe but certainly not Best Short.

Sucks about your film starting off so rocky. That's a cool story though. You should do a write up about horror film festivals for DZ. Some might find it interesting to hear about them from the inside.

I'd be happy to although I haven't really been to too many. If I get into NYC Horror Film Fest I'd be happy to do some kind of full coverage on it for you guys.

I haven't been to any which sucks because I really want to attend one. I'm going to have to make it to the chicago international horror film fesitval next year. But I think most people just don't know anything about attending film festivals so they might find your experience a good read.
