SW:TOR Two Months In

Mar 29, 2012 11:29

It's been about two months now since I started playing this behemoth of a game and over a month since the last time I posted, and the more I play, the more I realize that I've only scratched the surface of the story.

Cut for length, rants and very minor spoilers. )

Yay, another TOR post! Lots of awesome commentary, as always :) And damn, that is a nice shot of Quinn.

Quinn's quite the hottie, lol. I'm definitely curious about him since he seems to be the fan favorite amongst all of the love interests for the female toons.

mmm, Quinn. I should level my sith warrior, Darth Heather, so I can meet him.

Also because Darth Heather is an awesome name, so I need that title.

I can prob play tomorrow morning if you're around? If you want help with Belsavis, we could do that, or play the evil twins. We are almost to Balmorra!

Darth Heather is an awesome name, so you definitely must level up your SW. Luckily you get him pretty quickly on Balmorra and I suspect that soon Vette is going to be spending most of her time on the ship by herself.

I'll definitely be around this morning if you're up for playing. I'm thinking bounty hunters, because I tweaked my Trooper's talents and upgraded her gear just to see if I can beat that damned Rancor on my own. But if that doesn't work, I may come crying for your help later, lol.

Also? You may get this because you are equipped with a Small Person, but have you ever had the cartoon "Wow Wow Wubbzy" inflicted on you?

I loathe it. I despise it. But Wubbzy and the female BH have the same voice actress, which makes me fall over giggling at inopportune moments. That is all. :)

Oh wow, that's hilarious. You know, I had the same reaction when I played Jade Empire because Sky (the female LI) was voiced by the guy who plays the snooty dog on the Clifford cartoon that my son loved and watched every day. It had the unfortunate effect of making me laugh every time Sky tried to get all romantical and serious. *facepalm*

This is delightfully hilarious.

And don't worry. Quinn will be a trainwreck, from the little I've gathered. (If only I could ditch my trainwreck agents and go off and play my SW. And figure out what Ensign'Temple is supposed to look like...gah!)

I really do need to start leveling my smuggler. The way you describe it sounds so hilarious, IDEK. Like...I need to try that.

I'm glad to hear that Quinn will be a trainwreck. It seems like it should be - especially if I'm playing her full on evil. I mean, she's a psychopath and I'm pretty sure she doesn't have even one redeeming quality. So I really want to see how that's handled in a romance.

Smugglers are surprisingly fun. Although their ship is huge and really quite ugly. And sometimes their clothes are cool and sometimes they're very WTF. Her class quest chains aren't the most interesting, but they're still entertaining. It's her personality and dialogue (especially if you at least occasionally choose some of the bitchier options) where the class really shines. She gets some hilarious one liners and between the excellent voice actress and the animations on her face (she gets the best bitchy looks), she is quite entertaining.

I'm delighted by the idea of a Quinn trainwreck too. As you said, it kind of needs to happen for an evil SW, who has it coming. Maybe it's cruel to LS, but....you know, I can't really make myself feel sorry for anyone who is a sith anything, so whatever. (Maybe this is why I'm having such a hard time leveling them. I'm like, "You're evil and deserve death! NO MERCY!!!")

OMG, I'm going to have to play with my smuggler next. Gah...well, maybe not. I sort of want to get Ms. Lucrecia and Ms. Faeol leveled up before I do much else over on the Republic side. (Then maybe smuggler? Or douchy JK who I'm planning to co-level with Mom's trooper?) And empire side is probably still where I'll play the most, so that my guild doesn't think I've vanished. (Which means lots of Quix and Mutive.)

Heh, I know how you feel. There's so many different stories and toons that I want to try out that I don't know if I'm ever going to get the time to play through them all (like my poor neglected SI who I really rather adore). Even if I never do any of the endgame content, I think I've probably got enough to do until the end of this year. I probably should focus on finishing one or two of them up, but eh... I'm in no hurry to reach the level cap even though my republic guild seems to be looking for more people to run HM and ops - so I'd probably still have stuff to do ( ... )

The thing about Vette approval is that she *is* a career criminal, so she's not as relentlessly hearts-and-puppies as Mako. (Though my personal headcanon is that my BH and Mako celebrate every successful contract with the consumption of fruity drinks with umbrellas in them. (My OTHER personal headcanon is that my BH punted Skadge out the airlock within 15 minutes of his boarding the ship, but that's a whole 'nother issue.))

My SW is pretty lightside, but I don't think she's sacrificed much badassery to be there...it's all about protecting Imperial assets for her. Killing people is irrevocable; negotiations may preserve Imperial assets, including her own expensively-trained ass, and she can always kill them later if it seems necessary. (Though the one storyline Force Choke I indulged in was so very, very satisfying...)

Am currently leveling a Trooper blue-side, and I think so far Aric is winning the love-interest voice actor sweepstakes. Oh my...

I'm really curious how a lightside Sith Warrior would play out. My guess is that it would feel completely different than my darkside true sith who comes across as a complete psychopath. But I could still see her being quite the impressive asskicker. For one thing, the voice actress for that class is pretty fantastic and her voice sounds very commanding in a way that a lot of women probably couldn't pull off ( ... )

Heh. My SW is lightside largely because one of my guildies always plays the Sensitive Caring Guy Misunderstood By Those He Wishes to Help, and I get this uncontrollable urge to Do It Rite after a while. The challenge IMO is playing Lightside while still being a product of the character's culture, since I really hate the Drizzt do'Urden "I am totally different from my evil evil species!" take. (y'know, I might ramble just a tad...) Lightside does come across fairly formidable, though more in a "mess with what is mine and I will lightsaber your ass" way. And now that you mention it, I do really, really love the female SW voice...I want an expansion just for more Sith Warrior story, dammit ( ... )
