It's frustrating to watch things like "animal cops" on television, where they'll show you someone who has neglected their farm animals, resulting in a horse with a hole completely through his neck where you can see out the other side (an injury that was never tended to, but the horse lived through it anyway), and a cow with all it's bones showing ( Read more... )

I KNOW! I did a 12 page research paper all about the Meat Industry and I literally cried when I read through it. These animals in the industry are treated so badly and its ok because they aren't technically catagorized as "domesticated animals" so its "o-k" to abuse them. But honestly, how is a cow or pig any different from a horse or dog? Cows and Pigs are capable of thousands of emotions, they're more like humans than we think. Its ridiculous ( ... )

don't apologize, it's rare that I mention something like this and get a response other than "MEAT IS GOOD" or "PEOPLE NEED TO EAT MEAT." Seriously. I had to research all this stuff too for a class I had. If we "needed meat" then why the fuck is everyone ending up with heart attacks and high cholesterol? If our teeth were designed to eat meat, then why, if we evolved from apes, do apes eat only vegetables? People's arguments over the years have just become more and more of just excuses that cannot be backed up.

It's people who either think they can't make a difference or just don't want to bother because they "like meat", that are the reason why these factories are never going to go out of business
