Also, after watching the season 7 Christmas special (The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe), be sure to watch Pond Life (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZkWjkvaKpA) before the other episodes of season 7 (two so far). Just for “continuing” sake.
I thought the clone would be like the ones in "The Rebel Flesh/The Almost People" - I didn't think of the robot thingy until I was close to the end. I also easily picked that River would be the killer - not sure if there's anyone in the fandom who didn't see that coming from the moment you find out she "killed a good man" in Series 5.
Overall, I still much prefer David Tennant, but all good things must come to an end, and Matt Smith is a lot of fun. I'm also glad Stephen Moffat has kept the angst to manageable levels - the series of specials leading up to Ten's death were almost painful to watch.
I was just pondering David Tennant vs Matt Smith the other day. I remember a lot of people being dubious about Matt Smith before he started, and I was prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt. On his first outing I felt he did a reasonable job, and I still do, but compared to David Tennant's doctor he comes across as being rather young and heartless. Fun to watch but hard to like.
