It's a beautiful dream, and if the US was any other country, he'd stand a good chance of winning. A few points though...

Legalizing same-sex marriage.

Is a half measure. The gov't shouldn't be in the marriage business at all. Instead, it should register only civil partnerships, and this should not be dependent on gender or number of individuals.

Protecting a woman's right to choose while decreasing the number of abortions performed in the U.S.

Wonderful idea... how exactly is he planning on doing it?

The immediate withdrawal of all U.S. forces from Iraq and replacing them with an international security force. This, quite frankly, is borderline insulting. Does he really think that the international community is just waiting by the sidelines, hoping that the US will let us clean up its shit? Bottom line, you broke it, you fix it. If the US want to start repairing Iraq rather than breaking it, the international community will be there to help. The international community however, won't go in if 'all US forces' leave. Quite ( ... )

yeah, it would be great if the government wasn't involved in marriage and bonds between two people. but they are and that won't change.
the number of abortions performed can be decreased by education.
i don't really understand your statement on the last one.

these are just general ideas. more of his statements, views, and explanations and can be found all over his websites.

It can change, we just need a leader who's courageous enough to actually care about the seperation of church and state.

What don't you understand about the last statement?

i see marriage as neither church nor state. marriage has nothing to do with religion. it's not really a matter of church and state. i'd rather have state have power over church. it isn't just about one leader wanting to change. it has to do with all of the government.

i don't really understand most of it. with all the usage of you and us i can't determine who you're talking about a lot of the time.
