So it's a new year and I'm thinking of changing my hair. Posted a pic of myself on a forum I use quite regularly and the general consensus seems to be that shorter and darker would suit me. Does anyone else have any thoughts? I wouldn't have it cut too short - shoulder length/just above probably - my hair takes ages to grow back so I don't want to

However, if you do fancy a change, then go to a wig shop and try lots of wigs on and see what suits your face. I don't trust hair dressers - they're too scissor happy, and if you tell them to do something totally different to your hair, you may end up with an asymetric cut in platinum blonde with black streaks. Hmmm... actually, you might suit suit that (the platinum blonde I mean!)
I want to cut my hair to just below shoulder length too - I just can't handle so much hair and split ends! :S
Good luck!

If you get natural looking high/low lights done, you shouldn't need to retouch yor roots so often :)

chocolate/warm plum colour dye
Sweeping side fringe
An inch or two cut off and layers tidied so more bodied
I'm not sure about the fringe as I don't think I suit them... but I dunno. I'm so horrendous when it comes to making decisions, especially when it comes to my hair. I'm just worried I'll get something done and then hate it, and argh.

I go to the salon in Debenhams in brum. They are really good and listen to what you want and give good advice. Been to tony and guy a few times, sometimes its ok, sometimes they don't listen and I end up with a fringe that makes me look 12!
Just ask for a quick consultations at a few places, most will give them free too so you may as well.
Give me a shout if you want to go anywhere in brum and want me to go with you for moral support/tell you if they are talking rubbish!
