hey. from my experience, if you have no restaurant experience you generally will begin as a hostess. i dont know how that works for bars, though. but i worked in restaraunts for 2+ years (andhave lots of friends at other places aside form where i worked) and its VERY rare to get hired on as anything more than a hostess unless you have substantial experience elsewhere.
but its worth a try. hosts usually get tip $$ too, so thats totally worth a shot. i just wouldnt get your hopes up on getting a bartending job. most people bartend without the liscence that school gets you, its usually based on experience. but yeah. $800 is a lot to risk.
