I seem to get really bloated when I don't eat, bizarrely. Does this happen to anyone else?

hmmm... that kinda makes me think of the starving African kids. they have these humongous bellies.
i think the condition is called Kwashiorkor or something.
it's because of lack of protein.

Yeah, they do don't they. I'm not fasting or anything and I'm in a healthy weight zone(unfortunately). I don't eat enough protein though, maybe I should try that.. Thanks for your comment :)

yeah, it happens to me. if you're fasting, your bloating
will go away on the second day. just remember to drink lots of water,
(not soda) and dont eat salty stuff.

Water not only is essential in dissolving and transporting nutrients such as oxygen and minerals to the body but can also help in the digestion, assimilation, metabolism, elimination, and the waste removal in the body. Water is also necessary with weight loss. Water intake helps in flushing out toxins from the fat cells, which are store in fat tissue and released into the bloodstream. In order to burn fat cells, the fat cells first will have to be free of excess water and toxins. The body will hold on to excess water for survival if adequate amounts of water is not supplied. Water is a critical nutrient for many bodily processes. When you are dehydrated, your body excretes less water, and bloating can set in.

sodium and salt causes your body to retain water. a lot of broths have high sodium content, so if you drink them often, watch out. and make sure you drink your recommended amount of water a day. if you're dehydrated your body will conserve the water you drink, making you more bloated. if you've got the double whammy of high sodium and not enough water you'll totally get bloated. also, around your period you start retaining water and bloating, and there's not much you can do about it except wait and fume about being a girl and having a uterus.

Hehe, I'm often fuming about "being a girl and having a uterus". For once, I don't think that's the cause right now though :) Perhaps I'm not drinking enough then... I don't eat that much sodium, I'm quite careful about it. It only seems to happen when I restrict. Weird....
Thanks for the tips sweetie :)

what are you eating when you restrict? some food sensitivies could cause it...

ooh, thanks for the link :)
I'm eating much the same things as I do when I'm not restricting though. It only seems to happen when I eat very little. It's so odd. I'm going to look into food intolerances a bit more though... thankyou again
