I found this community after searching the web for pro-smoking groups. I actually signed up for LiveJournal just to join this group because I feel the need to have some people to relate to and talk to about smoking. I feel really alienated now by how the world around me feels about smoking

Welcome! I hope you'll enjoy this community and post often and help it become more active. I thik all of us here can relate to wha you describe. Take heart, though. Over the last several years I have noticed that despite the increasingly tight bans, higher prices, and social stigma, there has emerged in my city (I live in a small city whose heart and soul is a huge university right next to downtown) a sort of informal brotherhood of smokers. We are the ones who congregate in the outdoor seating areasof coffee shops and just beyond the 25 foot clean air zone around public buildings. We can recognize fellow smokers at thirty yards (Provided some of us are wearing our glasses), and we don't apologize for our vices. We probably won't ever rule the world, but who would want to? (Okay, I would, but just for a day.) But we won't back down either. So, keep smoking and keep posting.

Welcome to the group! Glad to see you joined, and totally agreed that there's nothing fregging wrong whatsoever with enjoying smoking. Too often I get the same response too when I try to tell others how much I enjoy smoking, and it really ticks me off the over the top anti response you get from certain people.
