Willow's mind & spirit were tainted in S6 from the moment she slit the throat of the fawn & that's seen clearly in her first conversation with Giles when she tells him "You're right. The magicks I used are very powerful. I'M very powerful. And maybe it's not such a good idea for you to piss me off." It isn't Willow's lack of principles -- she's always had those in abundance -- the access to power overwhelms principles or scruples & she has no idea this is happening as it is.

Tho' I love Starbuck (and Katee Sackhoff just took off with the role), the portrayal of Roslin as someone with ideals but also with political savvy, who's used it in a small way, to the highest position, is absolutely authentic. You can't hold power without being something of a fake to boot, but that doesn't militate against the quality of the person, imo. And she's far more sharply realized as a leader than any other female character that comes to mind.

I never watched "La Femme Nikita" -- a case where I enjoyed the original french film too much to see what would happen in the tv show.
