playground dignity or misplaced anger?

On our way home from fieldworking, I took Bubla to one of the local Gadjo playgrounds. He wandered over to within a few meters of one of the benches and I followed at some distance behind him, when I overheard a snippet of the conversation between the two seated women. and I just wanted to say that I knew a Czech woman once, but you couldn't tell she was Czech because she was intelligent

Well... everytime I hear something like that, or something like some czechs like to say with a kind of non-directed latent wish to sting "you know..coz you are russian" it sounds like i have to excuse that i'm. so i'm trying in the most polite and hard manner to explain who is who.

Hey there - I know you from the adoption community. I'm also an anti-racist, a Jew of Romanian & Russian heritage, and I'm studying (on my own, not in school) about Roma culture and history. I think we have a lot in common, was wondering if you'd like to be LJ friends

BTW, by "studying" I don't mean trying to be some American colonialist anthropologist... But rather that I'm interested in learning about Roma issues in the context of anti-racism.... and the connections between Jewish and Roma experience. I realized after I wrote this comment that it might sound kind of obnoxious - Sorry.
