Yeah, I'm pretty relaxed :-) Bubla was running around even before the anesthesia wore off fully. It was very funny. but not nearly as funny when they gave him the first hit of pre-anesthesia Happy Medicine. He was completely buzzed and acted like he was on some sort of psychedelic trip, or at least on pot, what with the giggling and all. They also drew things above both his eyebrows. So I told the anesthesiologist, "When he's a teenager, if he wants to get a tattoo and try drugs, I can tell him he doesn't need to because he already did all that when he was two. The surgery went longer than they said it would (and that was NOT one of the best 45 minutes of my life, especially the last twenty minutes or so, at which point the total allotted time for the surgery was up but no one was coming to tell me how he did), but I guess that's because his right eye was a good deal worse than the doctor anticipated. The canal was blocked in more places, and there was scar tissue. But both his eyes looked great right afterward, and now you can see the little loop of tubing in the right eye, but that's it. The stitches are inside the nose, so that's been bleeding a bit, but it got better fast, too. Anyway, I guess after the overnight experience last week, I expected his oxygen to go down once they de-tubated him (what's the opposite of intubate?), but it was perfect so we were ready for discharge really soon.
