Challenge #02: Weekly Quick Fic

Though she was only standing in the middle of a vacant parking lot with her breath finally slowing, it was as if she was standing on the edge of a cliff.

She had a choice to make: she could turn around and return to where she’d come from or she could leap off the edge.

If she turned around, nothing would change; she’d return to the life she felt as if she’d be mistakenly dealt. But if she chose to leap, she could change that wrong, she could do anything.

She knew she’d be alright. She even suspected she’d be better than just simply alright. It was just that initial fall, that jolt to the heart, that she was afraid of.

As she got back into the car to drive back home, she wished there had been someone there to push her, to make the decision she so badly wanted to make for her.
