Loved the way you wove the fic round the Sam/mathematical logic - it turned it from just another (good) SPN fic into a nice tribute to Spock. Plus all the equations leading back to the same logical conclusion - so well done!

Thank you! Funny thing, when I started writing, I didn't actually have that quote or anything. I hadn't thought of the Spock thing at all. But when I finished it and was looking for an idea for a title, the first thing I came across was that Leonard Nimoy quote and was like "oh, perfect!"

I'm glad it worked for you!

This was awesome. I liked the way you included the equations and logic statements in the story. I'm not sure if that's how Sam thinks but it was a cool way to read about it, particularly when he realized he had fucked up. The whole first part of this was so painful to read, with them being at odds and Sam being mean and Dean being pathetic, so I'm very happy that it ended on a high note. I like them so much better that way.

I am not totally convinced that he would spell things out quite like this either, but Sam seems very logical to me, especially when he was soulless, so I thought this would be sort of an extension of that?

I'm glad you liked it! That first part was hard for me to write too, and actually even through the middle when Dean was just being difficult because he's hurt and angry, that was kind of hard to write too. I have so much sympathy for Dean that I always kind of want to write him as the victim and Sam as the bad guy, but Sam had a really valid reason to be mad at him, and Dean definitely did some antagonizing of his own last season!

But as you said, end on a high note. I think we all like them better that way :)

This is lovely! Poor Dean :( You are one of my favourite SPN writers at the moment, your stories are always so on point

This story!! I swear! This story is one hell of a perfect piece. Loved how you wrote Sam's POV. LOVED that you even wrote it from Sam's POV. And his reactions, so damn believable. Needing time to come to this one realization!! Not wanting to make it easy for Dean!

Uhh, man, it was really painful to read in parts. Both were suffering so badly.

I FREAKING LOVED THE END!!!! The perfect equation :)

Thank you so much!

I'm really glad the time thing came across. I remember when I saw the s9 finale and Sam said he had lied, and I kept thinking, but you were such a jerk this whole time, it sure doesn't seem like you lied. So I wanted to write something where he was coming to that conclusion, even though he was still mad, that he really would've done the same thing.

I'm so glad it worked for you!

This was gorgeous! I loved the descriptive passages. This one had me at the beginning: He read constantly throughout school, classic words overlaying long stretches of two lane highways, circled in the filament-bright patch of a flashlight beam where he lay against the rough-worn sheets of a motel. It was tales of all the things he wanted to be - a person who learned and grew, who experienced the world and thought deeply about it. It was never ghouls or ghosts or backseat sutures with his brother’s blood sticking the pages together, not anymore.

It just carried through with the equations. The math was just lyrical.

But the best part? The way you captured their relationship.

The whole thing was simply beautiful. I'm going to put it in my memories. It's now one of my favorite migraine fics of all time.

Thank you so much! What an awesome story.

I'm so glad you liked it! I'm especially glad their relationship at that time worked for you - it was so hard for me to even watch it, let alone write it, but I felt like it fit this scenario really well.

Thank you again!
