VT is the Home School for my high school. If you're at all into math/science, it's your back up school, if not your first choice. My brother went there. He lived in AJ his freshman year. I know a couple of people who are still there (who are ok. Thank god for facebook).

You seemed to have missed point 3, opportunity. You use the weapon if and when needed. If you paid attention to point 1 you are hiding somewhere where the attacker has difficulty seeing you and has to come close to do his damage... If he's close then you can do some serious damage with small everyday objects. Imagine getting smacked upside the head with a restaurant sugar canister, best case scenario the attacker is down for the count, average case you distracted him enough to let others escape, worst case you at least did some damage before you die.
