Memorials and Testaments

There's a memorial for VT tonight, on the steps in front of my building. I got my co-worker and I two sets of ribbons; I don't know what they're doing with the donated money, but I hope it's legit, 'cause if someone is taking advantage of this I will hunt them down in a not-nice way. The Carillion is currently playing something, and I can faintly hear singing.

In light of this, the fact that the McCombes School of Business was ringed with police tape, a firesquad, police cars, and policemen at every entrance made me really anxious on my way in to work tonight. At first I'd thought that they had cordoned off the entire hill where the Tower is, which would have really freaked me out, given that I was supposed to be working, knew who was AT work, and the assorted history involved.

Somehow, I needed to wear a couple snippets of ribbon tonight. In a not-happy way.

Today was the first day back after the Conference. We started finishing stuff up; doing a bunch of photodoc, final bits of mending. I have a lot to do in the next two weeks. Ye gods and little fishes, do I have a lot to do. In recognition of the fact that it is a high-stress time, and that one of our professors is away this week at yet another conference, she left us a little note:

It's nice that they have such faith in us.
