Nov 12, 2008 16:10

This uncle is reading one of the Famous Five books. Wow nostalgic.
I loved reading them back then growing up. But i cant quite remember the characters. Was there a Julian? Or was the the 3 Investigators?

There was Julian. He was the eldest.

Julian
Dick
George
Anne
&
Timothy (George's dog)

George would be classed as a butch in today's lingo though heh

Immense dislike for Secret Seven and Famous Five.

Wishing Chair and Faraway Tree ftw.

TREACLE PUDDING. That sounds lovely. I remember I would read all those stupid Enid Blyton books and they would have the best pies. BLUEBERRY PIE, APPLE PIE. All freshly made. Om nom nom nom.

haha those still ok..it's those exotic sounding that i couldnt find in SG that really whet my appetites.. that explains why i still remember treacle pudding LOL. i still trying to visualise what the hell it would look like. i'd imagine something caramelly for some reason

Well, it's English u know and they dont have Enid Blyton here. However they do have Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys and some other children's books written by American authors. They have Dr Seuss, Richard Scarry's books which werent very big during my time but my husband grew up with these authors.
