The Hose

I overheard the DJ relating on radio yesterday a fairly amusing and disturbing incident. Apparently he was in the Johor Bahru city, Malaysia, when he had the urge to take a crap. He went into the nearest toilet in the shopping centre but discovered there was no toilet paper in the cubicle. The other cubicles in the same row were also missing the ( Read more... )

Man u should check out the female toilets. they have a tap, no hose, and one of those red scoop things you use back in the olden days for bathing.

WHAT?? SO...IS IT TRUE????

so, ok i am making a leap trying to connect the function of the red scoop thing. i suppose it's for cleaning up after a pee...OR does it have a dual function for post-crap since you dont have a hose????

suddenly, i am seeing JB in a different light. like it's from some other era.

Never understood those things. When I was there with my friends, I was so afraid I'll wet myself with the hose instead. Being the noob Singaporeans, we hunted all over the mall for tissue paper to take our respective dumps.

hmm, from what i know, malaysian toilets are harder to flush or they come in full flushes instead of half-flush. so people flush water down the toilet manually when not taking a poo. lol! i saw the hoses in the toilets too and thought it's probably for hosing the floor? now that you mentioned.. HMM!

well i dont know...will people be so civic and environmentally conscious when peeing in public loos to actually grab a hose, turn on the tap at risk of splashing and wetting your jeans / shoes, and proceed to hose the toilet? i personally wouldnt want to touch anything in a public loo other than the tap to wash my hands haha. which is why i so dig the new layout that does away the need for a door

umm... actually, i think the water is coz Muslims actually need to use water to clean after doing their business. at least, that's what i've noticed in the toilets in my school.

but not having toilet paper to dry off is a rather tricky point...
