How Much Should A Guy Be Earning At Age Of 30?

I stumbled upon this amusing forum topic about the defining amount a Singaporean guy should be earning by 30 years old. The girl opined that $5k per month should be the minimum, but had some male friends berating her for being a "typical pink IC woman

personally i'm not overly concerned with how much a guy earns, if he is intellectually stimulating enough. If he's a dull and boring person, i won't be attracted even if he earns $1m =) Of course, ideally, we should be earning about the same...

i guess that's why so many sporean men and women are not getting married to each other. unrealistic expectations.

hmmm, i think it is more the norm rather than not la. think of all the material goods the women come to expect/ buy; diamonds, luxury branded goods, holidays to japan/ europe etc etc. coach has become the new perlinni bag and LV seems to be everywhere le, even aunties are carrying it to the mkt (be they real or fake).

Then think about the all spoilt rotten daughters that are being brought up with unrealistic expectations of themselves and their future bf/ hb, that they are gorgeous princesses who deserve only the best when in reality they're just some typical fugly fat sporean bitch.

i think on the whole, society seems to have "upgraded" within a generation. the school kids have lots of stuff we would consider "luxury" during our times.

siao. These women have unrealistic targets or are shallow. Anyway, if a man can earn more than 5k a mth, something's gonna give & I dare bet it's time with family.

haha..i think it's probably some young schooling girl.
i think it's possible to earn > $5k and have a balanced work life..i just think $5k by 30 for guys is not very realistic, considering NS and all..cos going by that benchmark, then a girl should be earning $6-7k by 30 LOL
