I used to be above 365 (scales only go so high sometimes, its estimate)
About 4 years ago, I cut out fast food and regular soft drinks, and started exercising (Tai Chi mostly), I then lost about 30 lbs.
Then I moved down her to Delmarva, my wife got pregnant, and I started eating healthier as a result, plus about 8-10 miles a day on a bike, plus tai chi, dropped me about another 30.
Hit a plateau for a while. jumped back up to 314, lost it again, stuck around 300.
Dr. told me I was killing myself, and I had a responsibility to my wife and daughter, so I started an "Ideal protein" diet (like atkins, but without the fat), and quickly lost about 25 lbs.
Now I'm on Weight Watchers, and the slow crawl downward continues.
Well done! It feels SO good to lose, doesn't it?! I started around 250+ (probably 260, I was not brave enough to get on a scale until I'd going to the gym regularly for about 3 or 4 weeks, so I'm unclear on my starting weight...) and got down to 180 or so... then it has crept back up while working at the land of free meals in the yummy dining hall. I was around 215 at the end of last school year & joined a gym again. Got down to 206 over the summer, right now it's hovering around there, and I guess I'm doing more toning than losing, but eventually it will pay off. Sometimes, my will power just Sucks. Sigh.
SO - well done you! Hurray hurray & I'm very impressed & proud of your stick-to-it-ivity!
Slow and steady wins the race. WW is a fantastic program that will teach you how to eat for a lifetime. Good for you! I bet you feel like a million bucks!
I lost the weight by counting calories and exercising... and I did an awful lot of online research about the mechanics of nutrition/weight loss because, hey, I'm a nerd... plus, I think I'm the sort that needs to know why I need to eat a certain way instead of just doing it. I also used The Beck Diet Solution (cognitive behavioral therapy) to help me stick with it.
Yay, I'm so happy for you! Doing the hard work to lose the weight is a tremendous accomplishment. You should be very proud of yourself!!

Did you realize you've lost as much weight in the past 2 months as 1 1/2 Sarahs? Actually, more.
I am SO proud of you, if you couldn't guess.
