He’d left early that morning. Soubi rolled onto his other side and nuzzled his cheek deeper into the pillow below him, then slowly opened an eye and frowned, watching Ritsuka get dressed. Usually, he would watch with such intensity and mentally undress Ritsuka just as the boy was getting dressed, but not today. He was too caught up in his moping, for he knew where his young love was going and whom he was going with.
Ritsuka was doing his belt, looking around the room with little interest as he did so. When that was done, he bent down - causing Soubi to sit up, staring - and snatched a shirt off from the floor and put it on. It was a short black shirt, painfully casual, showing off the small muscles he had gained over the years.
He had looked so feminine during his early teens, but over the years he’d matured into quite the man. Soubi had first noticed the changes in Ritsuka’s physic when he’d been somewhere in his mid teens, around fifteen. Soubi had been so used to the frail little boy Ritsuka used to be, that seeing those muscles on his Sacrifice still made his eyes widen ever so slightly.
He made Soubi look like a girl.
“Up so early?” Soubi mumbled as he ran a hand through his blond locks, pushing some strands behind his ear. He knew exactly where his love was going, he was just making small talk. Stealing a glance at the clock - he’s going at eight in the morning? - and rubbing the sleep from one eye, he plopped back into bed and burrowed into the blankets. “You going to have breakfast?” Soubi asked as he hid his face in his pillow and opened an eye. “Or are you going to wait until she’s with you so you can go to a restaurant together?”
“Waiting for her would be a good idea,” the seventeen year old replied - his deep voice still making Soubi flinch - as he laced his shoes, “but I think I’ll just grab a piece of toast and be on my way. Osamu is the type to eat before she even steps foot out of the house.”
Soubi whispered something in reply but the pillow muffled his words, so Ritsuka just walked over and ruffled his Fighter’s blond mop of hair and headed out. “I’m gone,” he called over his shoulder, already in the living room. Soubi slowly sat up in bed, staring at the wall ahead of him as the front door closed with a soft click.
“Why am I always being dragged along for this kind of thing?!”
“Shhh,” Soubi squinted his eyes and groaned. “I can’t see anything, can you?” He threw the binoculars over to Kio and searched his pocket for a cigarette. He waited around for a moment or two until he heard a sharp gasp come from his friend. “What is it?” Soubi asked, rushing to Kio’s side.
“I found them!” He cried out. But instead of smiling, his mouth was hanging open in shock. Soubi didn’t like this. Kio slowly turned toward his blond pal and returned the binoculars. “He, um…” His voice trailed off; he probably had decided that it would be best if Soubi saw for himself. When he saw the frown on his friend’s face, Kio put his hands up and hissed, knowing that look. A horrible sense of déjà vu hit him. “Don’t go doing anything stu-“
But Soubi was already gone.
“So I told him: ‘Mister Yamagota, I don’t think I deserve this grade-“ Her mouth hung agape as she watched her date be pulled into a bear hug by some blond stranger. Ritsuka was sputtering and hitting the man on the back and arms, but this only seemed to make the man hug tighter. She didn’t know what to make of this. “R-Ritsuka…?”
“O-O-Osamu, I’m… I’m-“ Ritsuka finally broke free from the hug and took his seat once again, glaring at the blond male. The stranger merely smiled down at him and continued rubbing the areas that he’d been hit. Ritsuka exhaled through his nose and turned his attention to Osamu. “I’m sorry, this guy is… he’s… I’m sorry.”
She brought a small fist up to her lips and laughed into it, genuine and musical. “Oh no, it’s all right! I was just thinking that he was some random stranger! You two know each other though, yes?” The two males nodded, one with such enthusiasm and the other as if to say ‘unfortunately yes.’ Osamu laughed again and collected her things. “Well,” she stood up and blew Ritsuka a kiss as she walked away, “I’ll see you at school then, Ritsuka~”
They were silent for a moment, and then suddenly the teenager stood from his seat and dragged the other male from the park by the collar. “Do you see what you did? You made her leave! You idiot!” Ritsuka growled as he shoved Soubi against a tree. They were more into the forest now, and away from the public. He didn’t worry about being ridiculed for their intimacy here. “What the hell caused you to do such an idiotic thing?”
Soubi took that moment to steal a kiss, which caused his already angry Sacrifice to become enraged. “Jealousy.”
