It's Terry, Carla's husband. We are looking at cameras to buy and you working in a camera store has made me want to actually post on the lj. I would love to ask your opinion on a digital camera. If you do not mind! We are looking at an Olympus 350, do you have any info, good or bad on this model?
I really do dislike asking this as I work retail also, and have people asking me from time to time for discounts. I will not ask for that, I just want to know what you think about this camera.
On another note "Wine", you made some, that is so cool! My brother use to make wine, he did it for years. He made some pretty awesome stuff. I hope that you will share some of your second batch, the first for you and Adam. It should be a candle lite dinner with a wonderful meal, prepared by both of you and some "Erin Special 2005".
I apologize for the delay on getting back to you. It's been one busy weekend/week. OK, now about that camera, the Olympus 350. I am sad to say that my store does not carry Olympus, which makes me entirely ignorant of their product line. However, I'd say google it and see if you can find any reviews. I am personally a Nikon fan for both the point-and-shoots and SLR cameras. They have some really cool functions for a reasonable price. Also, I would like to warn you to not get caught up in the megapixel race. 5 MP is all you really need unless you plan on printing things bigger than 13X19. Basicaly more MP means more memory needed not better picture quality at the 4x6 picture size. I hope this helps a little.
I will definitely share the first batch of wine b/c I think it's going to make about 20 bottles! I don't think I need to be drinking all of that! However, Adam and I shall taste test it before inflicting it upon our friends ;-)
(Carla, this time!) That's what I was wondering with all the new higher megapixels. Personally, I'd like something that can have lenses added to it, I'm still hooked on my 35mm. Having a digital camera is a lot of fun, however! I'll make sure Terry sees your reply.
