Route 2, Chapter 2: Cognitive Dissonance

Previously, we had encountered a new character!

Something about this person is reacting with something unconscious in my mind.

I nearly pass out on the spot.

This of course leads to You, who was riding on my shoulders, falling on her ass.

Okay, realigning brain...

There's something vaguely nostalgic about the two girls laughing at me from up there.

As if I've seen all this before.

But we can worry about that later!

The first of the two girls seems to know You from somewhere.

Apparently they are old high school buddies! Also apparently her name is Mayo?

Anywa, what about the second girl who was trapped in there with her?

...There's nobody else in there.

Why did I think there were two of them?

I'm probably just going insane from the pressure of amnesia.

>Don't ask You.

You is not convinced!

She can deal.

Something seems a bit off about her greeting!

Anyway, apparently Mayo is just a nickname, and her real name is SARA MATSUNAGA.

It's part of some kind of complicated Japanese pun that I could explain if anyone cares enough.

Sara is pretty cool with the whole amnesia thing!

I don't think I'm being hunted by an organization of deadly assassins, though.

Lookin' for exits!

Sara didn't know about the whole flood issue, because she was stuck in an elevator the whole time.

Apparently the evacuation alarm sounded while I was unconscious, hence why I never heard it.

As far as we know, everyone is gone but us.

A thorough check of possible exits reveals a fuckton of dead ends, and HIMMEL.

It doesn't open, of course.

Well, we already looked for exits, so!

>Try to contact the outside.

I have caused You to remember something!

TO THE CONTROL ROOM

The communication lines are all down!

As you can see here, You handles the situation with poise and restraint.

Eventually, You returns to the world of the sane. Back to finding new ways out.

Sometimes Sara starts talking kind of weird. It doesn't quite come across in the translation, but she's talking like a Ninja, with about the same level of historical accuracy you might see on Talk like a Pirate Day.

ALL RIGHT, GANG, LET'S SPLIT UP

My search plan: Rest area, food stand, conference room, food stand, control room, food stand, lemurian ruins, food stand, oh screw it.

Now full of sammich, I finish my search. Nothing. Nobody.

Well, let's go back to the control room and

WHOA PEOPLE

It's that guy!

And that lady!

You found them, apparently!

This is Sora and Takeshi, as we OOCly but not ICly already know.

And radiating animosity from her shadow corner, it's Tsugumi!

I feel like I know her from somewhere, too...

Sara's here, too! She looks pensive.

>Worry.

Sara doesn't even respond the first few times I ask! She was in some kind of weird funk.

She assures me that there's nothing wrong beyond the obvious things, like how we're all trapped underwater in a doom facility.

I'm not quite convinced, but whatever.

When Sora uses the computer system, there is no kicking or chair-throwing involved! A step in the right direction.

With her usual unfortunate opening, Sora launches into the same summary as last time.

Only real differences are Sara's presence and Tsugumi seeming even more irritated than usual...

To be continued
