>> Sector 5: Genocide
DAN
Wait, something's happening outside. Make sure to take -
DAN
WHOA!
IJI
What the! Dan? Dan, can you hear me?
...
DAN!
Hi there!
It worked! The Komato and Tasen are now fighting. I barely even need to lift a finger anymore.
Unfortunately, if either the Tasen OR the Komato encounter me alone, it's back to them against me.
HAVE FUN DODGING THREE ROCKETS AT ONCE!
Chaos everywhere!
The Tasen can sometimes take out a few Komato, but they are mostly being steamrolled.
The closest thing the Tasen have to a fighting chance is the Elites, who take hits like a brick wall and do astounding amounts of damage.
The Komato haven't reached all parts of the Sector yet, though!
Here and there I'm just fighting the Tasen as usual.
That wall is interesting!
I'd get past it via the barricade door below, but it's level 7...
So I'll just blow it up instead!
Infinite Ammo.
For 24 seconds.
TRIPLE ROCKETS EVERYWHERE
EVEN AT THE EXPENSE OF SHOOTING MYSELF BY ACCIDENT
GYAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA
MUAHAHAHAwait what's that thing coming through the skylight.
Komato Berserker
Armor: 200
HP: 10
Weight: 8
Security: 7
Height: 2.5m
This beast is armed with no rocket launcher - it has the ability to reflect projectiles launched at it.
It IS armed with a Resonance Detonator and some kind of projectile weapon I don't have yet.
With the help of some lucky rocket shots, though (they're vulnerable while charging a stronger attack), they CAN be taken down quickly enough.
IJI
I thought I was prepared for this... the Komato will tear the planet apart to destroy the Tasen.
I've gotta find Dan!
Killing Berserkers is hard and expensive, but I have a reason for actually bothering to in this case.
Strategy!
If I shoot the ground right in front of them, they can't reflect it, and the explosion will still damage the Berserker.
And now my Komato is as high as my Tasen!
All for what lies up ahead...
Shocksplinter
Damage: 2 HP + 180 Armor
Reload Time: 2 seconds
Muzzle Velocity: 23 m/s
Requirements: Komato 6
Ammunition: 1 Shocksplinter shell
Aw yeah! I know this'd be an interesting turn when our fleet recieved a message from a human down on Origin - a HUMAN! What do you know, this is the Tasen's final outpost! Three guesses what happens next - we shoot them to pieces, we blow up their Planetary Shielding system with a Phantom Hammer, then we smash this space rock into dust with a full-force Alpha Strike! Man, it doesn't get any better than this!
So!
This wasn't a good idea. Surprising.
Reports have arisen that speak of a Tasen carrier ship named Ciretako, where a Komato platoon lost contact with its base. The first intriguing thing is that statistically, the invading Komato force that attempted to take control of the Tasen carrier ship was ten times more powerful than the Tasen crew aboard the ship - something had gone wrong.
An investigation team was dispatched to Ciretako, and found that half of the spaceship had been shot to pieces from the inside, as if everyone had gone berserk and fired their weapons at everything around them. What's more, both the Tasen and Komato forces were found dead. Komato Imperial Research, responsible for the Ciretako operation, refused to comment on the incident. The only reliable piece of information we have found suggests that they were "testing the new addition to the Komato army". This may be related to the ANnihilator, the latest and most powerful brand of cyborg - after all, the reports state that one such unit was part of the Komato assault team.
Who the Zentraidon brought these things along?! I'm not interested in some age-old news report logs, and most of them concern Ciretako anyway. I'd rather spend my time wasting Tasen than reading worthless logs! Hey, we just entered lower orbit - time to ready the Shocksplinter!
You know what I like best about being part of the Berserker force? The limited teleportation ability you get free with the armor, that's what. Nothing like getting the jump on a back of clueless Tasen.
Wow! That's a hell of a door.
I'll need to find another way back down.
CAUGHT OFF GUARD because the enemy is starting to step up their equipment!
This Commander is armed with a Spread Missile.
He's not the only one stepping up his equipment!
The Shocksplinter works be firing a rocket-like projectile that, on impact, expands in a bunch of smaller explosions that inflict armor damage.
The battle below is well underway!
I'll just wait up here for it to calm down.
Strength 6!
Now I can kick over Tasen Commanders and Komato Troopers.
Boring...
...exciting!
Those idiotic Tasen seem to have programmed the Turrets not to fire at anyone with the proper subroutine programming in their Nanofield - since we decrypted those security codes ages ago, and they STILL haven't updated them, there's not a single Turret in this colony that poses a threaet to us! It's like they're not even trying!
After the guys upstairs finish blowing each other up, this is mine for the unlocking!
And there's lock B!
Next time: Downward!
