Chapter 7: Birthday
Well!
This is the entire Neverhood.
Looks like I've explored about half of it.
Okay, time to head back!
Or maybe not! There are two buttons blinking now.
One of them warps me back, but the other warps me to this place.
Nice mural.
Disk. Disk.
That footpedal opens the door. Let's make with the exploring.
To the right of the path, there's a tiny rude person. He won't listen to what I have to say.
Okay, more exploring! There's some sort of stalactite forest. Stalagmite?
To the front we have some kind of red mushroom building.
And some kind of thing on the wall?
I can enter symbols in here!
Let me check my notes...
Well, this is all right so far... but this is the one that made a weird sound on the first machine.
But it's this that makes a weird sound on this machine.
Fire away!
There's a fair bit of stuff here, but I can't reach it without a buggy.
Disk.
Okay, back outside.
Left from the entrance is another building. Let's see what's behind a purple door.
Cheese, apparently.
Stomping on this button sucks up the cheese, and the mouse along with it. I hope he's okay.
To the left is a path into what looks kind of like a sandwich.
Something's in the way, though.
There's the mouse!
This is some kind of maze, I think.
It's a hard one. Each tunnel goes to different places depending on which side you enter it from.
But even if I can't sort it all out, the mouse can. He can smell that cheese.
Enjoy, little guy.
All right! Onwards I go.
[ BGM - Homina Homina ]
It really is like a sandwich.
Disk. Disk.
I don't know what this is, but I can push it around.
When it's in that little plus minus slot, I can turn it on.
I guess that's Willie, but upside down.
Well, it's no more use to me here, so let's send it on its way.
I wonder if this will end up in some kind of maze, too.
To the right.
There was a disk here, but I already got it.
On the wall is some kind of matching game.
If I make one mistake, the whole wall turns blank again.
This is really stressful, after failing a few times.
And done!
Nothing happened, though.
And with no further ado, it's time to see how much story I have.
It's the ending!
I wonder if I should watch this... yeah, I should.
Um, hello! Me Willie. Me Willie Trombone! These discs tell a story!
Story about good! Story about bad. These discs are all that are left of the true story. True story of the closing of the third age! Willie know that once you know this truth, then you know what to do! Listen! I tell you.
It all start with Hoborg! A being who had to create. Because...
...he had to. He make a world full of beauty and wonder. This world, the Neverhood, a world where he could live for ever and ever more!
Hoborg thought this world would make him happy! But it make him sad. Walking around his big beautiful new world make him feel all alone.
But then, Hoborg get him an idea! He said...
HOBORG: "I know! I'll make a friend to enjoy this world with me."
Hoborg happy to have a new friend!
He name him Klogg, and welcome him to the neverhood.
HOBORG: "Everything you see here is yours to enjoy. You and I shall spend all our days here together. With you by my side, I'll make more--
KLOGG: "Crown!"
HOBORG: "No! I mean... no, Klogg. This crown is the only thing you cannot have. I am ruler of this world, the Neverhood, and a ruler needs his crown. Surely, you can understand that. Now go, and explore your new home, while I go back to my throneroom to plan some more people to make."
So Hoborg go to make more friends...
And Klogg start thinking bad things.
Sitting in the throneroom, Hoborg start thinking about who he make next.
HOBORG: "Huh? What? My... crown!"

..........
KLOGG: Whoo! Frozen solid. Looks like this crown does more than just make you ruler of the Neverhood. It's also your secret to life.
KLOGG: What a pity.
Klogg right about that.
Without his crown, Hoborg stuck in a big, helpless sleep.
Ooh... that Klogg scare me.
But maybe hope!
...maybe.
A life seed!
Hoborg go boo boo with Klogg. Klogg go all stinky bad.
But Willie know what to do! Yes...
WILLIE: Wooh... Me hope Klogg no find out about this...
